How much would you charge me to replace the clutch?

 

Might be taking a job in Mcallen....Skimmed through this thread and pretty muched gathered that there aren't many Zs out there, is this correct? Any reputable shops? Or would I be better off making the 4 hr drive up to Austin or San Antonio?

Things have been a bit slow lately on the boards. Most of us communicate through FB and by phone. There are a lot of Zs but the hangouts have been dying out lately. We try and get together from time to time for car meets or track nights. Most of us are from different areas of the Valley and might have to drive an hour or so to meet up sometimes.

As far as shops for our cars, I'd maybe say there's one place KMP I believe but to tell you the truth most of us do the work ourselfs or take our cars up to JTrans in Houston for big projects like tunning, builds, etc......

Clutches, Tranny swaps, springs, engine swaps (DE to DE), gauges......I do myself

Not sure how much BLDG would charge but if the price is right I'd give him a helping hand. Me and him can knock it out quick. I just finished replacing my Transmission by myself. Just need to finish putting my turbo piping back together and I'm rolling again.

If I'm not mistaken JTran charges like 600 bucks to install a clutch.

Have any of you heard of Sanolis Performance in Mission? Do they do any good tuning on the Z's? I have a buddy that could get me half off on the price of the tuning and I'm interested if anyone has had any previous experience with them

 

Long time its been I've been on this thread. well I've been with out my Z for about 6 months now. Crazy stuff has been happening, But finally my Z has got the 264/267 Cams in and GTM Stage 2 valvetrain kit. So far it's been going well 308whp untuned so far untuned.

hey fellas, I will be moving to Mcallen come october, looking forward to meeting the z enthusiast out there. I have a few questions though, any boarder patrol agents in here? Does anybody know how the work is there in Mcallen? I have searched the web and all that good stuff, just would like to hear more from those who actually live in Mcallen and or work for the boarder patrol. thanks in advance

Mcallen is a good place to find work , as for the border patrol thing ive heard they are always hiring. We havent been out in a while but hoping to hang out soon. What do you have any mods and pics if want to post them up.

 

I've heard of Sonolis. They do a lot of mustangs ect. For a while they were really into the Evos. I wouldn't even consider them for tuning my Z Na or Built. There are lots of places you can take the car to but I recommend SA, ATX, HTown
You need to consider what type of tuning software you want and that they are authorized and knowledgable with it

 

I have a lot of friends who are BP Agents. It not too bad over here compared to Laredo lol. Overall its pretty safe. McAllen is nice. Post up pics

Edinburg and Mcallen are some good areas.

 

Hows the car coming DB? I say we set up a track night sometime next month after you guys get back from HTown or this month if you want to try out your new set up first. :-)

We definitely need to hangout though.

 

car is almost done just need to bolt things back up and put back my radiator fans. By this week i should be done for sure. As for the track i want to take it right away but ive been without the car for like almost 2 months i just want to drive it and then go get my retune. Yea we do need to hang out and setup a a day to hang out.

 

Just picked up from the dealer Rotary newbie.... 240 on the back burner for the winter...
