Default I just installed my HKS exhaust and Hotchkis sway bars

Yo guys,

I installed my HKS exhaust on saturday. I was wishing I had a lift after about an hour of laying on my back and working under the Z. The flange bolts on the stock exhaust were a real pain to take off, but once that was done the rest of the install was pretty easy. Oh, I also had difficulty getting the huge muffler off the rubber hangers.

After we took the stock exhaust off, I cranked up the engine with just the cats on the car. Jeezus, that thing sounded like a big block V8. Thats what I want it to sound like when I'm on the track. It would get old fast it you had it like that for daily driving.

The sway bar install was soooo easy. The hardest part for us was bending back the little metal tabs for the front sway bar.

I haven't had a chance to test out the sway bars yet, but the exhaust sounds f-ing great.

That was a great way to spend a Saturday in my opinion, and now I just have to finish paying for all the stuff!

That was fast! You have such a long antenna, get rid of that thing. Best 6$ I spent for mines. Exhaust looks good. Does it replaces the cat or are you still using the stock cat?

Thanks.

I don't even want an antenna. I would like something that would just plug that hole.

I'm still using stock cats.

The next thing I want to do is get the ECU tuned. I just need to figure out how I'm going to do that.

I need to get my car tuned also, its feeling sluggish. Just cut you antenna and it will look smaller and still be functional.

I love the hks sound congrats.

Also get rid of the mud guards, I used to think it would look weird without them but once I took them off it looked 100% better

EDIT: I last thing I forgot, do the bumper tuck

I think I'm done for a while with breather mods so I'm going to tune it soon.

I didn't think of cutting the antenna, I'll do that, thanks.

I'm not going to mess with the mud guards or bumper yet, but I have been thinking about doing something with the rear bumper. It seems like the bumper would turn into a sail with the big stock muffler gone.

buy the looks of it, looks like you would have to modify the diffuser to fit the hks. Are you just talking about getting the diffuser or the bumper and diffuser

I found it at the ARC website. It's in Japanese yen so I don't know what it would cost over here. Also, it looks like it's for the Nismo bumper.

I would prefer to keep the current bumper. It seems like its something I could make if I was so inclined. It just needs to cover the gap between the differential and the bumper

Thanks. It's such an easy install. I'd be curious to know which settings you like the best on your sway bars. I've got my front on the 3rd hardest setting (got one left) and the hardest in the rear. I'm not sure if thats the best but I thought thats where I wanted to start. I might try the middle setting on the rear in a while to see what kind of difference that'll make.

Dave,

Looks good! Glad you're enjoying the HKS! If you need a price for the ARC let me know! I can ask my contact at Mackin Industries.
