Clint has done so much work on my car that I think he now has fractional ownership. If you want it done right, Pango pointed you in the right direction.

Good article; http://coupekiwi.com/2011/11/21/fake-debate/

Edit: Great video that explains why replica fake-ass wheels are so cheap:

Wow! The "Houston Super Secret Group" just pushed me out cause I called Rota wheels "fake-ass wheels." They just did to me what 350ZMotoring did to Ash. I would say I'm sorry my opinion offended you but I'm not if you're going to act just as immature.

Everyone gets butt hurt these days. Let them run "fake a$$ wheels" if they want...its their a$$ when they crack. There are plenty of budget wheel manufacturers out there that have quality wheels for a good price. 5zigen is one of them.

I got myself banned for pushing multiple peoples buttons. I'm not blaming anyone for my actions over there. I didn't come over here & start anything with any of the members that banned me either. So, just drop it. You don't have anything better to do with your time than this?

You didn't get pushed out because called Rota's fake, you got pushed out because you're always acting selfish. You're a big Me Monster & no one in the group really cares. If you would have humbled yourself & realized that you were talking about real friends of ours that had knock offs (that don't track or mistreat their Z's) & calmed down with your bull crap debate that's been ran through the ringer... How many times?

We go to meets & eat out. You're gonna tell me, you're going to come to a meet & be fake to someone's face? What are you going to do? Walk over to someone's Varrosten's & tell them "wow, look @ your fake *** wheels? to their face? yeah, good luck with that. Immaturity is subjective I guess.

Old School... I've heard a lot of good stuff about you through other members, but have never meet up with you in real life. i assure you.. you aren't seeing both sides.

Robert- All in all, What I want most, is for you to come back in one piece. I don't know what you're having to deal with right now, but I've always watched my friends back... too much, most say... Sorry for any hard feelings. Let's just drop this mess & if you need to address something, just PM me.

You can't start anything with any members if you limit who YOU allow to see what YOU are posting in "The Hot Spot" group. And right now... I don't have anything else better to do. Maybe if you realize that I'm in the middle of a desert and I don't have the options to "Go out" or "drive my car" you would understand that my form of communication outside the co-workers I work and live with 24/7 are cars forums.

A "Me Monster?" Really? Kinda like how only "You" are upset at what I said and only "You" pushed me out. And "you" need to re-read what I posted. Cause I ended it. Your "friends" continued with it. And last time I check a car forum is about "me" for all of us. We all come here to find out information or showcase our car(s) that we're proud of.

Go out to meets? I invited you and several others to "meet" up with me on the North side and you bitched about the drive. But turn around and offered me to come down South and I said no problem. Way to welcome someone home from the middle east.

And YES I would ask them why they bought those fake wheels. And I would explain to them the differences in a quality wheel versus the BS knock-off they bought. And currently you need to reevaluate your maturity. Because apparently if someone doesn't agree with your thoughts you go off the deep end. And I'm not the first one from what I've been told.

Both side of what? Bayless... I posted this article about "Fake Wheels" or replicas; http://coupekiwi.com/2011/11/21/fake-debate/ and this was the first response;

That article was written by someone who spent $4k on their wheels and is sad I pulled up next to him looking just as sweet for 1/4 of the price sittin on reps.
I like how I'm suppose to feel "sad" that I roll on $4k wheels. :roll eyes: That's when I posted about how I see a set of Rotas and think; "Wow look at these fake-ass wheels."

I tried messaging you. Remember this morning on Facebook and this was my response from you;

You don't know WHY I was banned... You don't know anything... about it. So STOP talking about stuff you don't know anything about & stop messaging me.
So you can see I tried messaging you. But YOU didn't care what I had to say. And this "selfish" **** you can go to hell with. Cause I'm not selfish. I've sacrifice a lot not only for my family but for others in need and this Country. "Watching the backs of my friends." :roll eyes: They were doing quit well with their debate. And you just cut me off even after I ended my side.

BTW: How am I acting? And how did you call me out on being rude? And I will go on with my "bad self." Please explain to me than how I don't know what I'm talking about? And if I would've said anything else was fake that would've been ok?

Lastly, I'm in Iraq and trust me I know exactly how to get home and it won't be on Rota's.

For everyone else that might read all the bullshit. I never meant to disrespect or belittle you. I was trying to inform you, that when you buy replica/fake wheels that, yes, you are hurting the market and, yes, you are driving on subpar standard testing wheels. There are plenty of options out there for the same cost of those replica/fake wheels.

You are on every forum I can think of except' motoring. Up until the last month of 350zmotoring's life... you signed up and stumbled across our "super secret group," which has evolved over 5+ years.

I've met you a few times via Sunday cars and coffee meet and try telling you about our "secret group" but you were too busy entertaining noobs gawking over your car instead. It's okay, I would've done the same b/c you spent a lot of money on your car but this ain't no "super secret group," I want to clarify that.

Actually I joined Motoring in Nov '05. And I remember you and several others mentioning the group. But at the time I was in school or working at EG. So I didn't have as much time as I do now to go to all the forums. And I also remember saying go onto BoostedImport.com. Old School started it and I was helping it grow. No hard feelings. We're cool as I think, and hope, I am with a lot of members here and on other forums. But you have to remember that I was also trying to get meets going and such. And it's hard to hit up every forum and stay up to date with everyone. Even now being in Iraq with this extra time it hard to keep up. I just can't believe this is all stemming from an article on fake wheels. I don't know if this is more going on with Ash but this is crazy. Ash you really have gone off the deep end with this one.

I've been here awhile. Not really sure why you clowns are arguing over wheels. Robert_k is actually a nice guy. He's owned his Z long enough to help ppl steer clear of buying parts that aren't up to par. I own...*sigh*...owned (sold my Z the other day...man that was hard) a set of cheap wheels. Not knock offs, but they are inexpensive. I didn't buy them because of the way they look, I didn't buy them because they look like a higher end wheel. I bought them because @ 18 inches..they fit every BBK, they are super light, and they are a name brand that's been around almost as long as I've been modding japanese cars...5zigen FNs...not expensive, but very functional and are a great set of wheels....especially at their price point.

Robert_K never gives me sh*t for my wheels even though they're cheap. He may come off as arrogant, but that's definitely not the case. He's an active member in the community and has a plethora of knowledge when it comes to these cars, wheels, and turning a wrench. His opinion is worth more than most. Would I listen to him? Probably not cuz he usually has my bawls in his mouth, but others should. lol. If you guys want to run "fake a$$ wheels"...be my guest...you won't hear a peep out of me. But if anything ever happens...say, hit some debris in the road or pop a curb and the wheels go to pieces...RK will be the first to tell you "I told you so." Not to be an a$$, but to help you make the right decision and keep you from totalling your car because of the wheels you chose to buy.

just to give you another assist there... the 5zigen has been proven solid by several hpde events on honda and nissan cars... as well the super inexpensive enkei rpf01...
the point on "el cheapo" knock off is absurd when you can get properly design and manufactured wheel under 1000$ for a whole set. if you need to save an extra 3/400$ buying knock offs you don't belong on a 350z (or an s2000 or rx8, sti, evo and so on..) but on a F* used neon.

Sorry for your Z... I exactly know how it does feel.

^word. Mateo speaks the truth. The RPFs are a great wheel. better brake cooling than the FNs too.

Let me know if you need a Cobb Accessport for your Z4, Mateo. get an extra 70hp out of her. I'm about to put one on the X3 35i. Hopefully the wife doesn't notice.

This is my point. So many other options out there for the same price range and you 1) Have a wheels that have a proper R&D, testing and quality control. 2) Don't copy other manufactures style.

If you can't afford to modify a car properly don't modify it!

I think I'll go with ESS... a little more expensive but the horses are about 100 and they have more experience with bmw than cobb.

Rob,

While I agree that there are many viable/affordable options than "knock off's,"
the reality is that the Z's price point is low enough that there are many younger (even teens) that can afford the vehicle. While they are more than likely stretching their finances thin to get a Z and it's not exactly what I would say is a good decision, they are now owners. With that said, just because they're stretched thin financially, that doesn''t mean that they too don't aspire to make their Z's look bad azz...hence the market is ripe for "knock offs" or cheap wheels. Many of them don't know the alternatives or what they should even be looking at so they get the "knock offs." I have a Son in college. During the summer he may make around $3k working. With school expenses for gas during the year it doesn't leave much for modding so I understand where they are coming from. To me, if you like it, do it. After all, if this is all they can afford, they certainly won't be going Fi anytime soon thus requiring F1 wheel quality.

I agree that a "younger" market is buying 350Z's. And that a younger market can not afford a "higher-end" wheel. I was one of them when I purchased my Civic and bought a set of Konigs. But I was also not informed of the difference. I was uneducated on the subject matter. And than it was brought to my attention from other members on the downsides of owning a knock-off wheel. They also informed me of other options in the same price range like mentioned. And it doesn't take FI or high-hp to damage these knock-off wheels. A lot from what I've read and seen is from basic driving errors and hitting curbs or pot holes. And this is driving on everyday streets not under excessive load like track events.

EDIT: Ash don't no what happened but hope you seek help.
