I have some extra stock wheels. 17". I've been meaning to get my current wheels powdercoated too (orange), just been too lazy to look for shops.

Precision Powder in Spring. Had a tool cart powder coated by them. Also a really good friend had his wheels for his ACR Viper done. Both of us have no complaints.

I started on Saturday around 5pm with washing, cleaning, etc...
Then I started spraying plasti dip around 7pm, 20mins between coats.
I sprayed 1 can each wheel, totally around 5-6 coats.
I let it dry over night and started spraying the blue color on sunday around 10am...totally 4 coats...

Here are some pics of the process. I think that I need to respray the blue color since Im not an expert on this and it comes out a little uneven. There are some places that have more blue than others...

But over all, it's good. I like it a lot because I can change wheel color once every 6 months, haha

Oh and it's not hard at all.
There is no need for sanding, priming, etc...just clean the wheels nicely and start spraying, haha. Iceman u know this since u just got it done, too, right ? pictures, bro? haha

ZKansas - Good lawd did you use a box full of business cards for your "masking" haha ... I can see what you mean by the color being a bit uneven though. But, looks good for doing it on the cheap!

Ice - I didn't realize you had plasti dipped your wheels ... How hard/easy are they to clean with the plasti dip? and how many cans did you use in comparison to Kansas' one per wheel?

i used about 2 1/2 cans for all four wheels i should and probably will do another 2 coats so ill end up using 3 cans, a can per wheel is a good estimate of how much you should use though.

Amazingly suprise, it only took 1/3 of the box of business card, haha.
I just clean the wheels earlier today for respray.
So to help out on the "how hard to clearn": it's not hard at all. a little bit of soap and water would do the trick. Just be gentle on them (that's what she said!)

I'd love to get them painted the traditional ways but Im not an expert on painting(proof is the uneven paint, haha)

Ok, I repainted the wheels once more.
But it still has some uneven spots. I guess that is either because of my super amatuer skill or the plasti dip underneath.
In any event, I can always redo it later

Looks good guys!

Iceman, I saw your car at HEB and thought your wheels got powder coated. Well done!

If I knew about this a year ago, I wouldn't spend money to powder coated mine.
