Default Mobile Body Shop review

So I took my car to Sewell Lexus last Friday to have them check out my air suspension. Everything was a-ok. They kept it over the weekend and I finally picked it up Monday evening. Car was fine and in immaculate condition when I picked it up. Drove the car straight home and parked in my driveway. Tuesday rolls around. I work from home so the car didn't move out of my driveway all day. I go to swing by a buddies house later that night and I come out to see this.

No note or anything, they just left me with a damaged bumper and broken taillight. GRRRRR

Call up my buddy Mark, whom I know from the G35 forums. He owns his own mobile body shop, that specializes in spot repair, scratch repair, and bumper refinishing. Great guy to call if you have a ton of rock chips. He worked his magic this morning and was able to repair the scratches and cracked paint in my driveway. He's a cool guy and will do repairs anywhere that has an electrical outlet. PM me for his contact info if you're interested.

Got a taillight on order now to replace that cracked piece of poop.

Wow. That looks impressive, but we're seeing it as a pic online.

Don't you need a dust/dirt free booth to get a quality job?

Holy crap what all did he do? That's not just some minor scratch that you can just polish out. That went well beyond the paint + clear coat..what all exactly did he do? I'd be damn impressed if he did a perfect job, especially on a pearl paint (is it 3 stage like PPW is?)

JW did you get rid of the g35 for the ls430? Seem to have a thing for white cars huh?

It was a primer, base, pearl, and clear coat blended seamlessly into the surrounding area.

The G35 has been for sale, but yes the LS430 has replaced it. I've got a Datasystem air suspension controller and wheels are in the near future.

Moog,
Can you tell us what something of that size and difficulty cost ?

I know every scratch is different, but just as a general gauge of price.

Between $100-$200...we had done business in the past, so I got somewhat of a hookup... took him about 3.5 hours total.

Looks good for internet pics, but you can tell that he just painted right over the sensors in the rear bumper. And the longevity/quality of this type of a repair is much less than that of an actual body shop.

The circles below the chrome strip are back up sensors.
