Question Any Process Technicians here? (work in refineries)

I was just wondering if anyone on here is a process technician, has a process technology associates degree, or has any information about this field at all. I have heard that they make decent to good money working in these petrochemical refineries here in Houston, Pasadena, Texas City, and Baytown.

I am seriously considering taking courses next semester at a local community college (San Jacinto) and was wondering if anyone can shed some light.

I work in a chemical plant but not a process tech, and I think the operators get paid around $25/hr, I've seen some over $30, but that's if you've work there 10+ yrs. shift work, can be long hours, and you might need to work on weekends. But overall I think the pay is pretty decent.
