Are the motordyne pipes that much better? I just haven't heard them in person and you never really know from sound clips. How's the response with the new pipes?

What combination do you speak of? Factory cats, high-flow cats, test pipes? You've peaked my interest for sure. I really like my Nismo with high-flow cats, but now I'm intrigued.

the specific setup i heard was theotherob's ...
believe he had plenum spacer/ motordyne art pipes/ tdx v1?

it was outright incredible. the only thing that comes close is
the hks td setup. imo greddy just doesn't present as well
from a harmonic standpoint.

i just got a v1 and have plenum spacer/ helix tp's so i'll record
some vids for you guys once it's on. suffice it to say i am
****ing PUMPED

It looks like the motordyne site only shows the TDX2. I'm guessing that's an updated setup. Definitely looking forward to some vids.

I love my custom true duals. Wasn't cheap to have built but if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't go with anything else.

exhaust note is a very personal thing - what is magical to one person sounds awful to someone else. Been this way as long as the car has existed

the Injen was officially discontinued a while ago, so that should make your choice easier (unless you're buying used). You can still special order the stainless one with Ti tips if you're willing to wait (can take awhile), but I don't think it's part of their website offerings anymore

Stillen sounds nice, fits well...weighs more than stock

agreed, and it is incredibly difficult to capture a really great
sound "image" w video.

i'm sure we all have favorites, with a lot of overlap.
though i'll never forget the first time i heard the motordyne
and thought... wow i didn't know the z could sound so
good.
