Default HIT and RUN- need help please my350z

not sure if this is suppose to be here but i need help looking up license plate.

So it been only 2 days exact that ive gotten my car back from the paint and body and some ******* hit and runs me. Heres what happened...

TIME: 10:40pm

I was coming home from work from katy area. I live in Sugar Land so i take 99/Grand Parkway home. When your going towards Sugar Land on 99/Grandparkway there is alot of traffic passed highway 90 to 59 ( due to the construction of the new Fort Bend Tollway.

I was behind a group of cars going home, and i was in the back of the pack. i noticed headlights speeding directly behind me, this is when once you past the New Territory light/neighborhood the road curves, guided by orange barrels. This is 2-lanes only at this point. The headlights finally catch up to me as everyone is following the barrels. SUV almost hits me from behind, then goes to the lane next to me (im on the right lane). ******* then intentionally rams into my driver side almost pushing me off the road.

I speed up with no hesitation and catch up to this dumbass that is behind all the traffic that was in front of me before. SUV is cutting cars left and right, and i manage to catch up full speed and cut this person off around grandparkway and Riverpark drive ( the street i stay at).

I corner the ******* so he/she couldnt get away. Like directly cut them off and we were then at a complete stop. I get out of my car and then the SUV hops the curb, gets on the grass and takes off. But then i had already got their plates.

NISSAN PATHFINDER/Xterra
black/gray/blue/gunmetal
plates : BE6 2581

i called 911 when i got home, they said i have to go onto their site to file a report since i had left the scene of an accident. but when i go onto their site all i get is links to insurance claims. I made a claim with my insurance already, ******* pists me off since i literally got my car out of the shop wednesday nights.

when i checked my driver side i had thought the worst, due to the sound of the impact. But my side mirror was pushed in to where i can put it back. and My door is scuffed up, doesnt look like real damage.

i keep searching for these damn plates but its not showing up, CAN SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE HELP ME look this ****er up!

im going to the police station tomorrow to file a hit and run case, not letting this ******* get away with this.

pictures below: literally taken today! morning and then after the accident

I used this site last year (similar accident) to find the SOB that hit me, there's a $10 fee and you get results in 24hours and is less pain in the *** than going to the DMV to get info.

So what would have been the appropriate action to avoid "leaving the scene?" Pull over and call 911 as soon as it happened? Good luck finding the guy.
