Beach and drinks in Galveston
I am taking my girlfriend to Galveston for a night/couple days this weekend (1st time for both of us)... and I am having trouble finding a dinner cruise for a few hours.. or a party boat... or a boat that cabs you down the coast to different bars.... Is there anything like this? We are young and looking for a good time... spending $350 for one night in a hotel, putting the dog in boarding... and looking to relax with some drinks on the beach.. I would think there are some party excursions for young mid twenty-thirty year olds.... Anyone know of anything?! If there is nothing, what are good beach bars to go to? I am thinking of getting a hotel at Moody Gardens or on the seawall and cabbing or walking to different bars. Thanks so much!
Not sure if I am to late but there isn't really a dinner cruise in Galveston.
The downtown area also known as the "Strand" is your best bet for bars, clubs and restaurants. Its similar to Bourbon Street of New Orleans but smaller.
On seawall, the Pleasure Pier (25th & Seawall) just open. Its boardwalk attraction with rides, games, etc.
I would recommend "The Spot" on @32th and Seawall. Good restaurant, indoor/outdoor patio. Good view of the beach. At night, they have acouple bars attached to it that open up.
Moody Gardens is nice but is further away from most of things. Definitely a hotel on Seawall if possible. Its hot during the day, but at night its really nice to walk about.

Im Late seeing your reply, but appreciate the input! I stayed at Hotel Galvez for the weekend on the seawall.. and did infact check out the strand and the Tremont. Had a great time.. cant wait to go back.. wish I had gone earlier.. It would be cool if they had some sort of dinner or party cruise.. but understandably there isnt because most things are across the street from the beach.
