Default Tires installed in Austin?

Just curious if folks are just going to Discount or buying on-line and going to local places like Z-clinic or elsewhere since its time to get these stock tires replaced with some decent rubber. Was thinkin of going with the Pilot Sports or Toyo Proxies although the new BFG KDWs look kinda cool but am hesitant to go with a tread pattern that hasn't been proven yet.

Any recommendations/feedback appreciated!

I love the place, as do many others here. Good place for all tire, wheel, suspension, modifications and calibration/alignment, etc. I am sure he probably can get tires for you, but I think traditionally it's a bring them to him or perhaps drop ship routine.

I second Rob's recommendation.

Bill at Soulspeed will take great care of your wheels.

Check with him on prices for tires. If he can't get the ones you want or doesn't have as good a price, he is a registered drop ship location for Tire Rack, not sure about Discount Tire.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO DISCOUNT TIRE (sorry for the yelling)

They (multiple locations) damaged 4 or 5 sets of wheels on my cars. You would think they would have learned after the first 2. Even telling them to be careful they scratched them badly.

I have subsequently been blacklisted there because they got tired of replacing my wheels (they just wanted to repair them.) In desperation I went there to get a flat repaired on my Evo (Bill was booked) and they managed to scratch that wheel too

*steps off soapbox*

Go to Soulspeed.

Yeah. The thing is, Soulspeed seems really reasonable to me price wise. I can't imagine going anywhere else for anything between the suspension and the ground after only dealing with him once. I'm going this week or next to get an alignment since I've got new wheels and tires.

Soulspeed did my tire install and alignment, and I'm a very happy customer. As long as he keeps up the same quality work, I won't go anywhere else!

Any suggestions for tire repair? I have a good sized screw stuck in my back passenger tire. Not losing pressure but obviously needs to be fixed.

Thanks!

Bill at Soulspeed may still be able to help you with this one too.

I did talk with Bill - the tire is not repairable but I found a replacement on the from the forum. I will have Bill put it on. He tried to order a new one but it was massively back ordered.

Seems like a great shop.
