Default Austin Dealerships

OK the time is coming for me to make my pruchase, and I wanted to see if I can get any heads up.

In Austin:

Maxwell Town North
Maxwell Round Rock
SouthPoint

San Antonio:
Ancira

others?

Please let me know where you bought your Z, how mcuh you paid compared to sticker (am I crazy to try for less than 1000 over invoice?) , how you like the dealer and service deapartments.

I want to do this right.

Thanks all!

Gralyn Shelton in Temple. Not bad I paid 27,300 '04 For a sb base with nismo exhaust already on the car. I heard it and fell in love with it. It sounds great with the pop charger. If you want pm me and I will talk to my sales guy and see what you want and what he has.

Cant do it yet, must sell my car first, so I am looking at doing it in a month. your 27k was not out the door, right? But Nismo exhaust is worth a pretty penny.

Ill PM you once I have an offer on my current car, thanks!

Also, I want a Sunset Enthusiast bone stock. (maybe a bra)

Cool-- That fine! I was out the door at 29,700 I think. Yeah the exhaust cost a bit. But it is still under warranty. But I will ask or go see if they have a base model sunset. I like the base because in the texas heat it just bakes leather and as for the xenons well you can go to importhookup.com and get even brighter xenon hid converters for 400.00 instead of 1300.00 I asked. As for the factory NAV don't worry about it just get a pioneer avic-n1 and you will have one of the best nav systems around. Factory nav will set you back 2200.00 thats not even with the dvd either. SO let me know and maybe we can hook-up and have lunch talk cars and stuff! I live in Belton about an hour north of austin. in the Z 25mins.

Is that the screen that comes with the NAV?

No its the fancy buttons on the rear view mirror.... essentially a garage door opener, but it also has auto dimming mirror, which is nice in TX with all the F350s driving around blinding you hehe.

But really the LSD is the main reason I want the ENthusiast.

Gosh, I actually don't like any of the Nissan dealerships that much in Austin. When I bought my CS Enthusiast in April 2003, all the dealers wanted MSRP+! I had to drive up to Denton, TX to get a car for $1K under MSRP. Go thru the internet sales departments for any of the big Houston or Dallas dealers; you'll save a lot more since they have tons more competition than the 3 dealers here in town.

Also, I didn't know this, but my company does VPP with Nissan. Check with your company's HR to see if you get a discount for Nissan cars.

I live in Tucson, AZ and am ordering my 05 Roadster tomorrow. I got the dealer down to $700 over invoice for an 05 being factory ordered exactly as I want it. If you don't mind the road trip and want his info let me know.

I purchased my '04 Touring from South Point Nissan for $390 over invoice. It took a while and I had to order it - no Le Mans anywhere around at the time. It was also at the end of the year so in the end they really wanted to move another car so I had the general timing of the purchase working in my favor.

I would recommend the clear bra. I had my installed at The Ding Company (http://thedingcompany) - ask for Oscar.

Jerry thanks! Were there any other tricks you used to get that price? I am hoping to get the end of year advantage also, but of course, I would prefer the 05...

How much did the clear bra run?

The only real trick was that this was a 2nd car and I was not doing a trade in - i.e. I was not in a position where I needed the car. I was (and did) walk away if I did not get the price I wanted. I knew all the invoice prices of everything (http://www.fightingchance.com). Just negotiated the out the door price (inc. TT&L). Discussed my previous experience at the service department (old Altima) that was positive. I also went to Town North and talked to the internet department but they were not really interested in selling me a car. They wanted $1500 over invoice.

I did the clear bra on the front bumper, 1/4 of the hood and the side mirrors - standard package. It was $500 installed. I got a referral for The Ding Company from the CaptialZ club. They did a very good job.

That is EXCELLENT help Jerry! Thanks, now I feel that much more confident.

My plan was to print up an edmunds price suggestion, which is about 700 over invoice, and the first dealer to match or better wins. Its nice having many dealerships nearby for that. I wasnt sure how much clearbra was, but all that for 500 is a deal, and I will definitly do that ASAP.

And since I will be in a similar position, we have two cars, and I will sell mine before I buy so no trade in to get screwed on, and I wont explode if I dont buy a car right away, I might be able to get a better deal.

Well wish me luck. My car is going up for sale this week!
