It should work.....that's what APS uses as their TT/ST kit piggy back.

seems like a good deal economically too -- unlimited
retuning -- send it back anytime you get new mods.

also, i like the fact that in theory, you can still temporarily drive your car when you've shipped the piggyback unit to unichip... albeit not optimal performance.

not sure about the Z, but unichip tuning on subarus was just about useless.. for the same functions i'd go with an e-manage..

not sure if you can compare like a subaru to nissan car... kind of an apples to oranges comparison heh

In terms of gains this will be NO different than a ECU flash. There is only so much tuning that can be done to a N/A car. Fuel map and timing map. You either do this via a piggy back or through flashing the ecu.

Yes, but a reflash requires REMOVING your ECU and sending it out thus being without your car for a while. This chip is PnP, can be put in and taken out at the drop of a dime....and the HP/$ ratio is better, $15 for a new flash?!?! I may be ordering one of these next week.....

This is a great discussion. I actually spoke to a representative from Unichip and gather more information on exactly how the Unichip does what it does.

Turns out that the Unchip enriches fuel via MAF adjustment, rather than physically driving the injectors (similar to the Split Second Box/R4 software/SAFC). So in terms of functionality, the eManage is actually a better solution, since it includes drivers for both the injectors and the coils. So instead of tricking the MAF sensor, you can add IPW directly with the eManage.

Becuase there are limitations with MAF correction based enrichment, it will be interesting to see if the APS folks can get precise timing and fueling at very high boost levels.

Unichip's main purpose with their products, is to provide pre-loaded maps that enhance power and trq on OEM cars. For F/I cars, you might want to consider a different solution.

I was just gonna post the same thing. I've been doing some research and came across that and just made up my mind. Technosquare flash for me.

You definately should check in to local tuners also. I'm going to be getting a Unichip with my APS TT and I have to drive over five hours to get it tuned... Pain in the butt...

To me, the Unichip is about as tunable as my Crawford Plenum....

Then why does APS say their tuning is MAP based to get around the MAF limitations??

Have anybody tried this device yet? The horsepower gains I seen on the chart is that actually at the fly or to the wheels?
