Reflash or U-tec and tune?
I am staying NA. I don't plan on adding anymore engine mods except maybe hi flow cats and if I add those I would add them before the flash/tune.
I have read enough post to realize Utec is the best ECU upgrade right now. But I live 200 miles away from MRC, nearest utec tuner, and it is rather expensive for the Utec/tune.
With my moddest mods am I better off just getting a Technosquare reflash or should I spend the extra money and get the Utec? A reflash is @600.00 and the Utec/tune will be @1300.00 plus I have to drive 200 miles.

I would honestly go to AAM and get the ECU reflash done while on the dyno. I am not a fan of the "mail in reflashes" as you will have to do it SEVERAL times inoorder to get it right. Much better if you are on the dyno. IMO
dude i love the utec but in your case i dont think its worth the drive and money if you not looking to do major performance change to your car. mail your ecu in to TN square and get it over with!!! imo
UTEC bro! Why...
Once you get a flash... 6 months will go by and you'll wants cams or something. Make the drive and have MRC teach you to tune yourself. Also make the investment for the wideband as well. You'll need it to self tune. The UTEC can have 5 map settings. This way if you go on a long distance drive you can tune down for better mpg. You can have a track map for getting all the power you can safely. Also a daily driver map a bit more power but yet conservitive enough to save some gas. Also if you ever run high octane fuels you can have a map. This is why I'm sold on the UTEC, TXS Tuner (Bosch) WB, & Map Selector Switch. MRC has a deal going on that kit right now. Contact them. BEST of LUCK!!!

Robert_K, normally I would agree with you. Modding a car never seems to end.
I only drive my Z about 3 days a week and that is only between April and November! That is another downside of owning a convertible and living in RI. I am actually pretty content with the way it is now I just want to make sure I am getting the most out of the mods I have installed. I am almost 100% sure I am done modding this car unless I go FI and that won't happen unless I hit the lottery!
I was actually hoping I was done modding this car but since my last dyno run with spacer and exhaust installed showed a lose of power I am looking into ecu mods.
I guess my next question is how likely is it that I will only have to get a reflash done once? In other words, if I get it reflashed for my current mods what are the odds it is done perfectly the first time?
