Street Tuning SS Box.
I have been wanting to get my Z tuned for a while but there arent really any shops in my area that I would trust to do so. I was wondering how hard it is to get familiar with the SS box software as I would like to tune my Z myself. Anyone with experience please chime in. thanks!
The [ U-tune ] file wil help you understand the software better . It's scary to try to start to change anything on your own . If you have used and tuned other EMS's it will not be hard . I watched and learned from the first Dyno operator I went to . Started doing my self after that . Last time I had my shop tune it and found I was doing everything the same as he was .
You will need some way to log A/F , TP , RPM , and boost . The R4 will log ....TP, RPM, Timing ,boost , and fuel delivery . But doesnt log A/F .
What I have found was . I could tune with my Zeitronix logger , and If I couldnt hit a certain spot in the A/F . Meaning ..I change an area and nothing happens . I will log a run or two with the R4 and see exactly what cell the fuel and timing was at in the area I was having trouble hitting or changing .

Thanks for the advice booger, i have an innovative wideband so logging A/F was not a problem. Maybe I will try and make time to visit japtrix and take notes while im there. THey seem to have a great rep here in FL.
