It's very easy to change maps accidently as you can knock it with your elbow without even knowing it ( try it & you will see how easy)

I just recently built up a major modded HC NA motor for the track.
As this motor had big cams & very high compression, a lot of time was spent on a very conservitave map for its 1st test outing. We copied the map into postion 1 2 & 3. switch was set on 1
1st test was for 8 laps increasing speed each lap. Pull in & check the lap top,
everything OK.
Hop in again to go out & when putting on the crash helmet must have knocked the switch to 0 with the elbow because 5 laps into the 2nd test the temp guage went off the dial in an instant & it started pumping out water.
From past experience I new that head gasket had let go & I just could not believe it as it had been perfect for 2.5 hours on the dyno.
I then noticed that the UTEC switch was on 0. If you have ever seen a grown man cry its not a pretty sight.
Final outcome was 2 destroyed custom forged pistons all because of a stupid decision on my part as to the placement of the UTEC switch

Put mine where the trunk switch was on the g. relocated the trunk switch next to the hood lever. everything looks stock, very clean. i don't use the switch much, so it being out of sight does'nt bother me much.

How did you remove the stock "cap"?

My install isn't "clean" yet so no pics, but I have my UTEC map switch located where the Z's passenger footwell DC plug/cig lighter was located. I just pulled the cig lighter out, and stuck the map switch the hole. Now all I need is a nice trim piece to cover the original hole and make a nice seat for the switch's rubber trim plate.
Plus, this has the added benefit of being hidden, and then easily accessible by flipping down the DC plugs door. And no funky running of wiring!

I just installed mine last night next to where the VDC goes. You cant see the # from driving position but why would you need too. I plan on running an N/A and Nitrous map so changing on the fly wont be that often.
