hey guys. I've been reading about the UTEC in these forums for two weeks now. I'm wondering if they give you more power as soon as you install it or do you have to get it tuned before it makes more power? I'm just wondering because I talked to sharif at Forged Performance and he said that his NA tunes average about +13 hp to the wheels and I was wondering If this might be on top of what a UTEC would give you without a tune.

 

well it can't before you tune it because......it's not tuned.

yes you will need to get it tuned, the base map it comes with wont really do anything for you.

+1 it comes with a base map but it won't help you out much, just keep the engine from blowing up and help you drive to the tuner

 

Of course, you could just drive to the tuner on the bypass map, and never use the provided base map at all. Many choices available. :-)
