From: ATL-What U Know About That???
Hey all, just wanted to get some feedback on possibly installing this unit.
Basically it is a stand alone unit with all sensors (h20 temp, air temp, MAP, knock, igniton coils, etc.) The timing is triggered via a hall sensor which would have to be installed as well. The great benefit of this unit is that it comes with a programmer and also a mixture/timing **** to assist with making corrections before actually saving it to memory. Plus the ease of tuning is a huge factor.
What I can foresee doing is installing this unit as a complete system which would, of course, completely take over the fuel and ignition duties. You can also adjust the rev limit. I'd keep the stock ECU completely intact and still allow it to monitor all the sensors and control the DBW. Of course it will totally be unable to make corrections to fuel/timing because the harnesses would be disconnected. I figure when tuned right the stock ECU would be happy and not really thrown into a frenzy. Do you guys see any apparent problems doing this?
I hope I wasn't too vague in my explanation but I wanted to keep the post short and sort of easy to understand
Please provide as much feedback as you can..
