The O2 sensor goes on the header before the cat . The EGT sensor goes as close to one of the exhaust ports as possible

+1.

Although EGT is old school and more a waste than it is worth.

Actually, I would put the wideband sensor in your Crawford HFC. Specifically, in the driver's side cat. If you are under the car, look at where the cat meets the header. On the neck of the cat, there is a great mounting location for the sensor. Plus, there is plenty of space between the cat and the car body. Finally, this point allows you to mount the sensor on the top side so the sensor does not get any condensation on it (this is very important).

Why place the wideband sensor on the driver's side cat and not the header? Three reasons. The sensor will eventually burn out and you will have to replace it. When mounted on the cat, you can get a wrench on it really easily. Finally, should you need to remove the exhaust part to service the sensor, it is a lot easier to get the cat out. Plus, if you needed to remove the header, you would have to remove the cat anyhow.

Oh, and if you are thinking "but the sensor has to be before the cat", true. While I am suggesting you mount it to the cat, it will still be before the cat element.
