I have just been wondering what it means when you talk about corrections when you see a dyno read out. What do the mean and what do they do? Sorry if its a newb question I have just never heard it explained. Thanks all.

Correction factors adjust for ambient conditions during the dyno run. Ambient temp, barometric pressure, humidity are all equivalized, so that one can compare dyno runs done on different days, and under different conditions. The two most common correction factors are SAE and STD correction.
Some dynos, such as the DynoJet, offer several different correction factors to choose from. Others such as Dyno Dynamics only offer STD correction. By and large, most people use SAE or STD corrected numbers.

Easy to rewrite [change some parts of] dyno software so that the correction factors are invisable or faked to make the readings anything the dyno operator wants.........especially after they sell you a tune or aftermarket parts to keep you coming back. The customer pays the bank note and it takes lots of runs per month to pay for the unit.
Remember the software just times the drum acceleration in millisecomd intervals and calculates how much torque it takes to accomplish the acceleration.
Reset the drum mass coefficient or change the time interval actual vs calculation or just create a series of correction factors and rename them.
All about ETHICS.............hood open - hood closed and 50 mph fans to simulate air flow.
