Exclamation Technosquare Vs. UpRev ECU Re-mapping

Ok,

So I have been looking it to having this done on my 06 N/a Setup. I have seen alot of Technosquare comments, but not much on the UpRev.
Now that all being said I really like the Map Switching feature, since not seeing much on there product it makes me look towards Technosquare. I if Technosquare could to the Map Switching feature. I would have it on it way. To me it seems that Technosquare has this down to a Science.

I plan on keeping a N/a setup, currently have the MREV 2 and 5/16 spacer, K&N Series 63 Filter with a Nismo Catback. I would like to add headers and High flow cats.

Please let me here any information regarding this subject.

Thanks,

Chad

The only advice I can give is definitely do a tune. I have headers, 5/16 spacer, intake, and exhaust, and I have noticable gains, but no where near what I would like. Personally I would go with UpRev because I am only about 2 hours away. On top of that, I have spoken with the guys there a few times about there beta testing and they seem like stand up guys.

I was also pondering the same thing, with AAM thrown in there. What I plan to do is have a custom tune/reflash done all at the same time.
Otherwise, from what I've found, the TS flash is more complete than the AAM. The UpRev is so very untested that I cannot comment on it.
Good luck! And let us know what you end up doing.

You are correct. The TS flash seems to be more in depth. I wish they could do the Map Switching. Not that's not a big deal, but a cool idea.

I hope to get some good information from all that have done this.

UpRev ftw! Seriously though, ask specific questions and I will try my best to answer them. The map switching is an awesome feature and the tuning ability is the same as TS; ablility to raise rev limiter, idle, change a/f, timing etc...

The reason TS has it down to a "science" is because they have seen sooo many variations of mods that they know the tune that "perfects" that a/f, timing (aka power) for almost all the types of variations in mods. That said, I know UpRev will be able to comparably tune your car and "perfect" your a/f, timing, equating to more power when compared to the TS flash.

'perfect' tunes are the results of dynotuning and being tuned to day-of atmospherics.

your "more power" comparison vs TS flash is subjective, unless you have the car in house on the dyno while you are tuning, your tuning prowess is subjected to the same limitations that AAM & TS has which is the actual car isnt there for the 'perfect' tune. That being said, experience and knowledge of the various intake/exhaust modifications and how they affect the VQ's OEM AFR/timing is key to a good tune, and thats how TS and ultimately AAM has a slight edge over UpRev, imho.

who's had the UpRev done so far, i'm curious...

UpRev FTW! Helpful staff and the price is right. They are still fairly new and have not yet built up a reputation like TS, but give it time. As a current customer I back them up 100%.

When I was saying "perfect" I was implying correcting/improving. I understand that day to day atmospherics are very important to getting a correct tune and a dyno is a necessity for even more fine tuning. Also, I didnt say UpRev would produce more power, I tried to say that they both have to potential to produce similar amounts of power.

As a customer of UpRev, I back them 100%, their knowledge of the ECU is very extensive and I trust them with my Z.

I have the UpRev tune on my Titan and it's the best mod I've done.

+1 on UpRev

I have not had my Z tuned yet by UpRev. Had to cancel a scheduled tune last month due to the dyno at another facility not available at the time. However, I would like to commend Jared at UpRev for driving down to SA from Austin to download the data from my ECU. Yes, two hours of his time at no charge so they'll have my information ready when I come in for the ture. Now, that's customer service!

WoW. It's seeming like UpRev is really coming up strong and fast. They are about 700 miles from me here in Florida. I have search he boards here, and seen nothing but good comments about them.

So I am guessing when you send the unit off them them you need to provide them with a little info about you ride and atmospheric conditions. Now that being said, I am new to all this with cars. So I looked over the site an ordering information. It's requesting this info.

Rev Limit Set Point: I have a 06. So should I bump it some of not?
Speed Limit Set Point: Ok this one is a no brainier. Remove it. Not that I will ever take it that fast. But it's just nice knowing it gone.
RPM at Idle Set Point: Should I bump this up some to. Maybe like 825 Rpm.

Suggestions to the Z-ECU Newbie?

raising the rev limit point is good for those that have a tendency of bouncing off the rev limit, or those that have cams that make power all the way to redline-.. its more of a safety measure as not to hit the cut off- 500+ really isnt that bad.

speed limiter: you never know when you'll need to break 159mph

idle bump is only necessary for those that have rough idle due to MAF/intake changes or cams...

So I have put an e-mail into UpRev on Friday. So far no reply. I think it's kind of funny that the only way to contact then is by e-mail.
So at this point I am guessing I will Technosquare. They have a phone number on there web site, and when you call someone picks up the phone.
So thanks everyone.

So you called and you talked to them, why didnt you ask them the questions you had? Matt works full time somewhere else and Chung was leaving the country sometime, I just dont know when. That would leave Jared in the shop by himself. Let me know you need any other phone numbers.

They are also in the process of setting up/calibrating their dynojet.. This may be consuming alot of their time. He does have a phone number and Ill post it because its on his business card

You obviously have not done your research in this forum. Heck, just a simple search with the word "UPREV," I came up with 23 results. Within those threads, there are links to their website, email addresses and phone #s posted.
