Default ECU reflash.....

Hey guys whats up..... well i have another dilema..... I'm wanting to order the AAM reflash or the tecnosquare reflash for my 05 350Z. So far i have intake... exhaust... plenum etc..... I'm going n/a and i'm wanting an extra something.... Which of these reflashes do you guys prefer???? and is it possible to purchase an ecu off another 350Z to use while my oem one is being reflashed?????

A. Do some research.
B. A flash is only as good as the car it was originally tuned on
C. No, you cannot use another ECU on your car while yours is being tuned.

I dont know about 350z, but my 96 Maxima 5-speed had no problems with swapping ECU's with another 96 Maxima 5-speed, I dont see why 350z would have this problem.

You can use a different ECU while the one is being sent in for a flash(same year same engine). I would highly recommend getting a custom flash with a tune all at the same place, in house on the dyno. I would also highly recommend searching for some information as it's there.

From what I have heard from other members who have tried to do this, because of the security system, another ECU will not work and the car will not run.

I believe you cant switch ECU's unless you get the borrowed ECU set to the ignition key that you are using. Its not all that expensive, but I would imagine a Nissan dealership charing atleast $50 to do it. (Code the ECU to the key that is.)

this is not a maxima. this does not have the daughter board that the old maxima ecus have.

each of the new Z / G ecus have immobilizers keyed to each one and swapping it will not be possible unless you re-key the immobilizer, and with that you might as well get it reflashed

good to know.... i just didn't wanna purchase this new ecu with the idea that it would work.... and then be stuck without a vehicle.... Thanks guys..... what are your thoughts on which would be better between the two reflashes..... I know that its better to tune and flash my ecu all together but my location doesn't help me whatsoever..... so the easiest thing is to send it off to get reflashed... and then pray that it works......

The Technosquare reflash seems more comprehensive from my research.

With your mods, you don't really NEED a flash. Save up for a UTEC or similiar device and then get your car tuned. You will be much happier IMO.

i just purchased a ecu from the same model/yr/engine ect as my car, all i have to do is get the dealer to rekey the imobilizer system to my own key right? Then i can send my ecu to get reflashed.

I wanted to setup a donor system, charge a small fee to let someone borrow the ecu so they can still run their car while their ecu is out getting flashed.

can turbonetics or aam relash the imobilizer system? Can you just get a key cut and flashed for the imobilizer system?

Yeah you can do that, but why? You're gonna spend at least $100 or more to go back and forth between ECUs. Turbonetics or AAM cannot redo the immobilizer.

Technosquare CAN redo the immobilizer: they can erase it, but once you plug your ecu into your car and then insert your own key it will be 'keyed' to your car.

they have a 'spare' ecu program that you can inquire to them about it.. i.e. loaners.

why would i be happier with a UTEC??? Being that there is no close or good dyno tuning stations closeby..... I'm kinda stuck with just being able to reflash it........ what kinda of downsides can i look forward to.... also what good things are there about a reflash.......
