Well, if you can't get to a dyno, then they are all equally useful/useless. Is it likely that you can get gains from a reflash? Yes. Will they be like they would be in a turbo car with a reflash? No. Will it be nearly as good as a dyno tune with a reflash or UTEC? No. Have others done this? Yeap.

they have a 'spare' ecu program that you can inquire to them about it.. i.e. loaners.

I have AAM's flash and it did exactly what I was looking for:
-good power gains (proper AF, timing...)
-raised RPM limiter
-removed top speed limiter

I also liked them b/c they were super fast in doing the flash...I'm in Seattle; I sent them the ECU overnight, they received it the next day, did the flash, and shipped it back out the same day --> my Z was down for less than 3 days!

here's the post I made: https://my350z.com/forum/tuning/246942-aam-flash-o-dyno-pics-and-vid.html

Remote flashes don't get my vote. I understand that shops may not be local, but using a generic flash on my car is a no no. Since every car is different, who knows what a flash that was done for another car will work the greatest on your car. This is not to say that it doesn't work, cause obviously people do it, I just don't think it's the best way.

from talking w/ AAM, there's not much of a difference between cars when they have the same mods...that's why even if ppl live next to them, they still offer their normal Flash - if someone wants a dyno-tuned flash, AAM can do that; they say that they'll usually squeeze out a bit more power over their regular flash.

Just my opinion, but anyone who told me that would never tune my car.

I have not flashed my 350Z ecu yet, but I did sent the ECU in my EVO to be tuned to turbo-trix, via their mail-in service, and it worked great. I understand that it is always best to have the car put on the dyno and all, but when one is not available, a mail-in flash is not a bad idea! Good luck!
