Default boost hitting sooner...do I need a new Utec map?

I know next to nothing about Tuning, So please bare with me. I am running Utec with a map tuned for 8lbs. One of my intercooler pipes came loose today on the interstate mid boost. Once I fixed it and floored it to merge, I was boosting 10 lbs, and it hit all at once, and sooner than pre intercooler pipe problem. I have a blitz EBC that uses %'s instead of absolute values for boost and gain. (Ie, 25 percent of boost capability). This leads me to believe I had a slight boost leak when I got tuned 2 days ago and the same boost and gain percentages are greater than before. My Question is: Will boost hitting at a lower rpm than before, and faster, require a new tune, Or Does Utec work by adding more fuel per more boost, and not more fuel per rpm?

It works on boost, not RPM. The answer to your question depends on how thoroughly the car was tuned. There are a lot of cells in the UTEC, and some of the cells are hard to get to. If your tuner didn't tune the higher boost cells at lower RPM accurately then you may run in to some issues. What does your a/f guage read?

+1 Exactly! And turn the boost back down to 8psi.

Good, you're on top of that. If you don't have a WB AF Gauge then you need to jump back on the dyno and get a baseline with AF at a minimium. If you have the maps you can always email them to me and I'll take a quick peak.
