Default Soft Rev Limit on UTEC

I read in the instructions that the soft rev limiter on the UTEC kicks in 250 RPMS before the set limit

so technically if i wanted a 6600 RPM rev limit then i should set it to 6800 on the utec?

and what does the soft rev limit even do?

I can't really answer the question as in regaurds to the soft limiter and UTEC. But I wouldn't think you could manipulate RPM's on the UTEC to over ride the stock ECU so far as the rev limit. Maybe someone will shine some light on that?

But the soft limiter on older models basicly hits redline and sits there instead of a hard bounce off the limiter.I believe newer models have torque management where it pulls timing and fuel as you approach redline so its not a hard bounce off the rev limiter.

You can adjust the rev limiter when running in Option 1 and tuning off of MAP, Open Fuelling. But not when tuning off the MAF.

That's good to know. But I wouldn't recommend it if your going FI, on these models with the soft limiter.
