Default Having trouble uploading map to UTEC from PC

For some reason, every single time I try to upload the TN Base map onto my UTEC, it uploads about 8% then says Check Sum Error, Corrupted Map!

What the hell am I doing wrong?

I bet you are using a USb adapter, right?

I have the same problem with my usb-serial adapter. I have to go with a real serial connection for it to work.

Some have said that the belkin usb-serial adapter works the best.

Yes I'm using an adapter but not the belkin...they were out. I'll try just using the serial on my desktop.

Well holy ****, the straight up serial connection worked! Guess I'll be getting the Belkin adapter since my laptop has no serial port.

Thanks!

TurboXS has base maps on their website.

tuning cars every day all day , i know that base maps are not safe for anything but driving your car to get tuned. there is no way to just throw a map in and it work right. just be careful with maps and only use them 1/4 throttle at most and under 3000 rpms....

I was under the impression that their base maps were pretty conservative. Have you looked at the one they provide for the basic TN kit? I'd like to get your opinion on it.

every car is different...that's why base maps aren't reliable. I would only use a base map as a starting point for tuning....or as JEremy put it....it is a map to get to the tuner.

I believe I read somewhere that TurboXS doesn't recomend uploading maps to the UTEC. You may want to double check everything to make sure its the same in the UTEC as it on your PC before you get too far with it.

With this build I plan on trying my hand at tuning so wish me luck
