Default Na/ dyno dynamics/ utec tuned

I was told the numbers would be alot higher on a dyno jet. My tuner said he could of put in a high correction number but it's pointless. The numbers were alot better than what i thought i would get. car pulls aswome now. a/f was right around 13.2 till about 4000. after 4 it was tuned to about 12.7-8

install in driveway the night before

on the dyno (not strapped down yet)

and the results

So what do you think??

no. not at all. the axis mods do because of the offset.

I assume those are not before and after tune numbers. So we don't know what the UTEC and tune gain was. Or if there was any gain.

You probably would have pulled an even 290 HP on a DynoJet... Good numbers!!

How much was the Utec and tune installed?

yes those numbers are uncorrected dyno dynamics numbers. the red line is the base pre-installed utec map and the blue is the new tune.

as it shows on the chart the red was the first run of the day and the blue was the 13th. the preinstalled map mad my car run a little too rich but it felt better than it did on the factory map. we leaned it out closer to 12.8-13.2. i think the first run was around 241 with the a/f around 11.9 to 12.4. The tune made really big gains past the peak. my questions are : is it safe to rev that high and what should i be shifting at when i'm racing?

Shift at redline and stay in your powerband....shifting lower will just be slower...your call

Thanks. This looks like a 15 horsepower peak gain with the UTEC and tune. Good results.

You will have to experiment. At about 6,600 RPM you with reach a dead point where the car is no longer accelerating. Try different shift points.

That's incorrect. As SergEK mentioned above, shift at redline.

Torque does fall off at the crank near redline, but you are still accelerating much harder in a lower gear than when you upshift to the next gear.

I don’t know where redline is. Was it altered with the UTEC?

yes the utec brought the recline to 7200 like it shows in the dyno. I kinds got the just of shifting near redline. It seems to stay in the powerband best when I shift at like 6700.

Looking at the graph, shifting at redline with his powerband keeps him in a much higher avg horsepower area....more avg hp being made, quicker ET

Thats my opinion...if torque dropped off big time I would move it lower but if you look at the hp curve it trails off slowly to redline.....

For drag, I take a snap shot of the last 2K rpm window...from 5200 to 7200 is better than 4200 to 6200 powerwise on that graph...I guess you can compare acutal numbers just to be sure
