I've had both UTEC and Osiris/Cipher, and my 2 cents:

UTEC is easy to tune AFR, but timing it is difficult to get optimum settings because of temperature changes. Your stock ECU changes ignition timing depending on temperature (and maybe other variables), so a timing curve that pulls hard at 70 degrees may knock like a **** at 100 degrees.

Osiris/Cipher: Cipher itself can bump your stock timing 2 degrees across the board. This is a good starting point for advanced timing. Osiris can tune your AFR.

Another benefit of Osiris/Cipher is that you can log your AFR from your factory O2 sensors. With UTEC, you have two options: 1) get UTEC tuner, and install an extra O2 sensor in your exhaust to log AFR, or 2) log AFR using factory O2 sensors and Cipher. If you're going to buy Cipher to log AFR, you might as well buy Osiris/Cipher package.

And yes, noticeable gains with timing and AFR adjustment.

if you search around for threads started by me, you will notice about 25hp gains from plenum, high flow cats, popcharger and tuning on stock exhaust ... probably a little more with a good exhaust system

that said, you haven't been doing your homework. search the forums, find dynos, and learn for yourself
