Default Factory Flashes

I have an October 2006 build 2006.5 Z and was wondering if there have been any factory updates (software) since my car has been out. I have not seen anything about any factory flashes, but was curious if anyone else knew of any. I would just like to keep it up to date if there was. I do my own maintenance so I haven't taken it to the dealer is sometime.

I used to have an RX-8 and Mazda was releasing new flashes all the time altering engine settings, but I kind of figured that Nissan wouldn't have to do that much since this is a tried and true engine, not something very special like a rotary.

Thanks I know there are aftermarket flashes available and they are not free, I was just wondering if there were any factory updates that Nissan has issued since my car has been built. I also know that the majority of the factory updates are not performance based but there to fix issues they have noticed over time.

Sorry if you thought it was a performance based tune I was asking about.

I think that Gothchick might have meant that the relashers are aware of the different ECU firmware levels, and that they might be able to help you out. It would not be for free though, so if that is your requirement... the answer is probably no... no freeby updates.

Well any update from Nissan itself would be free under warranty, and this is what I am wondering if Nissan has had an code revisions since 10/2006 for the 2006 model year Z.

I see what you are saying, that the aftermarket tuners would know of any Nissan revisions so that they can keep their code up to date.

For what it is worth, from my Subaru days, each model year had several firmware revisions. I had an 04 WRX and there were at least 5 revs of firmware for that MY. As with any software, car manufacturer will release the car with some firmware revision. Through the year, as the car is produced, the firmware is still worked on and improved. So, as the cars roll off the assembly, they get various revs depending on when they're produced. Subaru is like that. I am sure Nissan and most other manufacturers are the same in that regard. The question is, how can you find out what rev you have, if it is the latest and what do you need to do to get the update? That's the hard part.

When I recently reflashed with Orisis, this is all it gave me in terms of ECU info... This was my base flash. BTW, I can't say enough praise for the guys at Uprev, and Orisis. I think I just may be selling my UTEC soon~ :-)

Glad you like it gothchick. It's a great product I might be dropping mine next month though. Got a good deal on some Greddy's so I think I will pick up the Haltech to see what Jeremy can do
