Default U-TECH, Bolt on's and Meth.......

I may have to put my turbo kit purchase on hold for a bit as I am buying a house. After much research I have found that a U-TECH is a must have when going FI. I was thinking of buying a utech, a borla exhaust w/resonated dp's, and I already have a crawford manifold. Would I see any gains if I had a utech installed and tuned the car? I have heard a utech can add 10+ hp on a n/a car. What if I added meth and adjusted the timing etc. on a n/a car, would this yield any gains? I am mainly trying to do a few things to mod my car a little and hopefully most of these parts I can keep when I add a supercharger or turbo.

yes, a tuned utec will fully utilize the power those mods may offer.

Adding meth will certainly give you some good power. Are you going with 100% meth or 50/50 mix with water? Obviously, it will be even more beneficial with FI but once it's on and you're tuned, the benefits will be:

1. Much higher timing because of extra timing you'll be able to run on the car
2. Cleaner engine Alcohol will clean the internals and keep your engine running smooth.

also remember that if you are going to a tuner, it will be ~500$ for a based tune and a couple hundred dollars for a tune update. Make sure you have ALL your parts installed before you go in for a tune, otherwise it will get $$$ very quickly.

It will to the extent that it'll lower intake & cylinder temps and reduce knocking. I'd go with a 50/50 mix however. Pure meth will affect your AFR's requiring additional tuning to compensate.
