the cobb seems really, really cool.

I was talking with Sandy@ART about it (that is his screenname) and it sounds cool. check out his thread.

yeah...i've been reading everything i can about both

i was planning on getting the osiris...then the 350z AP gets released. They both let end users reflash whenever they want for about the same price. My basic comparison:
Osiris: Cipher, map switch through cruise control, change speed limiter, raise rev limit, adjust idle and ignition timing, optimized throttle tables, e-tuning
end user software is coming out soon (and i believe it's no extra cost)

Cobb: handheld device (don't need to bring laptop to car), monitors fuel economy, performance stats, CELs and various sensors, adjust idle and ignition timing, raise rev limit
optimized throttle tables coming in future maps and end user software to be developed (but i believe at extra cost)
i think i saw on one of their blogs that the AP may some day include a virtual dyno.

the osiris is self tuneable right, that is the one thing about the AP, it is basically maps only, no dyno tuning or customization, right?

AP is off the shelf maps right now...tuning software is being developed for nissans but no release date. that's how i understand it anyway.

I bought the Cobb AP and unless and shelf maps are perfect for those who don't really know what they are doing(me) when it comes to tuning. Its a dynamite peice and I love the new performance of my car.

Both are not. But the Osiris allows those with the later widebands to datalog their a/f / timing / etc.. and send that log to them for another updated reflash. Don't know if they charge for this now or what.

But both companies seem to want to offer user tunable applications soon. Just not yet

The end user tuning upgrade to current Osiris owners will be free. Once we release it, it will be a pay upgrade. Meaning that if we release the upgrade tomorrow and you bought Osiris today, you will get it free, but tomorrow it will have a cost associated with it.

We have the ability to eTune and we currently offer that as a free service. You will lack the hand held device, but with 5 stored maps, you really don't need a hand held. Load the 5 maps you are going to use and run with it, they switch on the fly (we even offer launch control via map switching).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

im pretty sure the cobb you can ask them to create you a map to your preference(not sure), but ive read somewhere that they will release maps for your exact mods like the osirs, The AP is brand new so there options are limited, but give them a lil time and im sure the Cobb will be redic.

i called up Cobb for there support and they are freakin AWESOME!!!!

The guys at UpRev are great. Only dealt with Jared and Matt, but it definitely looks like Rich is on his game!

No doubt the guys at Cobb sell an excellent product, and they are good people. I was saying that we can build a map for your particular car, not just for your mod list. We do ask what your mods are so that we have a better understanding of the logs you send us back, but we build from the log files or your particular car.
