Default tuned my 04 NA / unichip ( dastek dyno )

hi guys ..

just came back from a unichip tuner.

installed unichip Q and tuned on dastek dyno.

mods:

UR crank pulley.
Injen CAI,
helix throttlebody spacer ,
Motordyn plenum spacer ISO thermal,
Tomie Headers & test pipes,
Fijitsubo Y-pipe,
Blitz Nur-spec Cat back

i got 298 Bhp ( as the paper shows, and the tuner told me its 260whp )

will scan the paper and post it later on.

the car drives more smoothly now. and much better in terms of power. but the numbers are dissapointing.

what do u all think???

dissapointing? What did you expect? You have a N/A setup with a few bolt ons.... To make any decent power you need to move to FI. Without a turbo or SC setup there is very little power to be had. I just don't understand why people don't get this

i totally agree with you that there will be no much gains unless going FI.

but i ment with all the mods i have i expected more than what i have now compared to NA.

i mean i was expecting minimum of 275+ whp ... thats why am abit dissapointed.

Where did you come up with 275? I had at least the same mods as you did, different brands, but roughly the same and pulled 256... which is inline with realistic expectations. to get to 275 you would have to crack into the motor for cams at least. Without cams, headwork, and/or upped compression 275+ is dreaming on a DE motor

Also, 298 Bhp would put you in the mid 250's, so you didn't even get 260. IMHO you have to figure a 15% drivetrain loss. Sorry for the buzz kill

I agree Aaron, I had EVERY available bolt on part to be had along with the Unichip and put down 263whp. And that was with the best quality parts money could buy! I figured I had about $7k in parts into it. What a waste!! Take it from a few guys that have walked your path, save your money for FI.

you guys are so lame! saying it cant be done on a de motor. it can be done, you just need to choose your mods carefully. i have afe intake and long tube headers. with just that im pushing about 340 hp to the motor without a tune, exhaust, or spacer. i know im around this power because ive raced a couple hr's from a 40 mph roll and put two cars on them. remember my motor stock puts out 287 and hr's put out 306

So....intake and a header alone give you extra 53 hp? I don't think many people here will believe it without a dyno sheet.

krivera most certainly got an A+ in ricer arithmetic

PS: who the hell measures horsepower in BHP except the manufacturer?!?!?! This thread is useless without at least seeing the dyno

This bs is exactly why underhood i tossed an intake and cf rad plate
and called it a m o t h e r f u c k i n day. The rest of my coin is looking
flossy on my body and wheels. Most common question - "What type of
turbo are you running?" NONE. Gotta go FI for power. Its all over this
forum and its the TRUTH.
