Is a unichip really worth the money? Im thinking about getting one and just want to know how much i should spend on one or if its just not worth the money.

I disagree, I have a unichip and it's great, My car pulls hard all the way to redline, the power doesn't drop off any more. I raised my traps like 2-3 mph with it.

With that said i believe it's worth getting a unichip if you can pick one up used thats already tuned for your parts ( i bought mine for $500 and it was already tuned for intake, test pipes, headers, and exhaust) It did exactly what i needed it to do. If your gonna buy one new for +$700 your better off getting a Utec but with that you'll also need a custom tune.

I've been meaning to get it dyno'd to get my a/f ratio but i'm sure it's good, i bet with a custom tune on it i could probably make more power.


If you can pick one up for cheap, and won't need to retune it, then it's worth it.

And yes, the Unichip is a pile of garbage, and a marketing gimic. And this is coming from an authorized Unichip tuner. If it's included in a kit, then fine, but I would never consider purchasing one seperately.
