im trying to find a 9 pin male cable for the utec and 15 pin male cable for the laptop. Im trying to read my run logs and i want to know where to buy the cable to connect the two together... any help is appriciated! thanks!!

 

definately a nood question. Just kidding.

those 2 don't go together. the 9 pin on the UTEC is a Serial Port. The 15 pin on your laptop is a VGA OUT D-Sub connection.......not meant to be connected.

your laptop probably doesn't have a 9-pin serial port. what you need to get is a USB-Serial adapter.....sometimes called a USB PDA adapter.

OR, if you are just running the UTEC (not UTEC and Tuner wideband) , why don't you just connect it via a usb cable. your UTEC has a USb port, and the UTEC sofware comes with USB drivers, too.
