With these mods will I need my ECU reflashed??
I am getting these parts for my 06 ZR. I read in Import Tuner mag that instead of gaining power, some cars might actually lose power. Will the Z take these after market parts with no problem?? Or will I have to get my ECU reflashed to see the difference in gains of power. Also with these after market mods how much HP (crank) would I gain??
Nismo R-Tune cold air intake

Motordyne Plenum Spacers

Nismo R-Tune Headers

Nismo Exhaust

Even the most basic of bolt ons are not going to recognized by the ECU and the sensors will read things differently. To get the gains you're expecting out of those parts you will need to retune the ECU so that it works with instead of against them.
same boat in here ,but from my experience i did not lose power ,infact i didn`t gain the power that i should gain from my mod`s (see sig)
i started from 212 WHP and stopped at 233 WHP although i should gain much more (what i gained: APS =17, HFC=0, MDspacer=4 of 15
)
if i may put the Q in another way : which way i should go to benefit more
1)retune (S-AFC or any e-manage)
2) reflash ??

Nismo R-Tune cold air intake
I personally feel on the 06 your better off with the Stock Airbox an a K&N drop in filter
Motordyne Plenum Spacers
This is a Great Mod
Nismo R-Tune Headers
I personally for the Money I would look at some other headers. Might I suggest Strup
Nismo Exhaust
Great sound. A bit louder then stock.

yes, a tune will be needed to make the most of the above mods. Once tuned, expect in the 260-270 whp range. Without tuning, you could be as much as 20 whp down from those estimates
