Default Optimal A/F ratio?

Okay, I did search but the results were a whole bunch of mixed topics that had in the most part, nothing to do with what I was looking for.

I have an N/A car at the moment, full bolt ons and I want to know "typically" what's the best A/F ratio for the HR or any motor for the most part.

My car currently flat lines at 13 all the way to about 5500 RPM and drops to around 12. Would a tune be worth it at this time? I'm at sea level, running 93 octane all the time.

If your AFR Is already 12-13 NA, then there won't be massive gains tuning fuel. Timing can be a different story. And whether you see 2hp or 20hp, if it is 'worth it' is up to you.

What A/F do most of you all see at idle and crusing at 70-80mph?

Generally speaking on a car with full bolt ons, you will see a gain with a good tune using a capable product. Thats a fairly generic across the board statement that is true.

AFR only tells a partial story, and it's a really good reference to see if the car is running "safely" or that your tune is close, but without the other information it doesn't mean much.

Now if it's worth it on the other hand though, thats entirely up to you obviously. You have to balance what you've spent so far on making gains, and what the price for a proper tune is so that you can get the most out of what you've already purchased. If you're close to Relentless RPM or Horsepower Logic, they can get you a quote for Osiris and a dyno tune so that you can make an informed choice.

I'm planning to take a trip down to HorsePowerLogic this weekend, I'll call them up tomorrow.

So, to make sense of this.. I got all the tuning and timing stuff down but is Osiris a tangelable item? Or is just a software?

For future tunes am I stuck with the only option of going to HorsePowerLogic without repurchasing the Osiris?

It's a software license, and it resides on your ECU unless you flash it with some other program or update.

You can purchase the Cipher cable from them also, and then you can always flash it back to stock (the license reverts to the cable so you can flash it back onto the ECU) but it's not really something you need.
