ok guys, i bought a cobb tuner from a guy on the forums, he hasnt replied to any messages i've sent or anything, mainly cause he hasnt logged on in a while. but my problem: He didnt uninstall the tuner from his car. it says it still has to be uninstalled when i hook it up to my car. is there any way i can reset the access port or anything? any help would be appreciated!

thx, i know right, figured hes old and retired and doesnt know what the heck he's doing.
I think you're going to have to have him uninstall it. I'm having a problem with mine (not really a problem, just loose nut behind the controls
). I couldn't uninstall from my system because of a firmware problem and they are putting some special software on the unit and sending it back to me to uninstall then return to them.
Hopefully there is an easier way for you to do what is needed.

Better yet, if you used a credit card (which is all I would ever use for online purchases, even through Paypal) do a chargeback and ship it back to him. Just be sure to ship it insured.
The person who bought my cobb tuner had the same problem. He sent it back, and I checked my car. It was uninstalled like I had thought. So I hooked it up to my pc, cleared the tuners programs and downloaded new ones for his type of Z from the cobb website. Sent it back to him and it worked fine. Seems once the program is downloaded into the car, it will only work on that specific car. You must load a fresh program from the website when changing cars.

The reason why Cobb charges so much is because technically, the person that does not unmarry the device, still has the tune on the ECU. You buy it like that and if you can get it fixed for cheap, you end up with 2 people sharing the device, 2 cars tuned for almost the price of a single unit. Can you see why they don't exactly want to do this?
