Be careful with that additional 120 per hr.... Stop them after 1hr would be my opinion especially NA..

700 sounds about right for the Osiris license + custom dyno tune.

No.

You either get the Osiris Pro Tune option at a certified Osiris Pro Tuner shop...

or...

You get Osiris Standard that comes with three e-tunes direct from UpRev.

You don't get both...

how did you pull that off? osiris pricing is pretty standardized, the only differences I see are hourly rates for dyno tuning.

He probably was only charged 85 for the dyno tune. It can be done pretty quick I imagine if the car is N/A

so the osiris flash is just the "e-tune" which means u send a datalog to uprev and they sent u back the ECU already tuned? how much difference is that than getting it dyno tuned....I was quoted 750 with dyno tune...sounds steep to me so i was just wondering about a cheaper option with the same "amazing" tune

thanks

Just look on their website for the simple answers.

Osiris Flash Service

Once received, we will reprogram the ECU with a new file that is customized to your needs.

Parameters that we will tune include:

Up to 5 Maps on cruise control equipped vehicles Idle RPM Speed Limiter Electronic Throttle Control to achieve Wide Open Throttle at all speeds. Rev Limiter DTC disable AFR Targets Fuel Compensation Ignition Timing Advance Cam Phasing for equipped vehicles.

But what I'm wondering...when I got to an UpRev dealer and have the flash service done...wont I be getting 3-5 maps to switch from also?

I went to an UpRev dealer so all I paid was $400 for a license...I didn't see a need to pay $700 to get the cable and software and then I paid $85 for an hour on the dyno.

I have three maps...stock, tune, and valet.

Every Pro Tuner is going to have different rates for dyno tuning. Based on their location, their ability, and how much they paid for their dyno and what the shop costs to run.

$85/hr in Alabama isn't unreasonable.
$175/hr in Austin TX isn't unreasonable.

We generally spend about 2 hours dyno tuning a car here, and at $175/hr thats $350. On top of the $400 for the Osiris License.

It also depends on your working relationship with a shop, and how much you've spent with them over how many years. So every shop will have a different total cost.

Some cars do take longer to dial in that others. Stating "oh well thats NA it only takes an hour" is total BS. We've had NA cars that have taken far longer than an hour to dial in, and we built the damn software, we have more experience than anyone with it. We had a totally stock car in here a few months ago that took 2.5 hours. It made solid gains at the end, but there was something screwy with the car. We finally got it figured out, but if you're strapped to the dyno, you're going to pay dyno pricing hourly, not just general labor. So we always make certain to let a customer know that our estimate is $750, it may end up higher or lower than that depending on their car.

We always let them know that their car should be in good running condition before it gets on the dyno:
1. change plugs/fluids
2. make sure there are no leaks
3. radiator doesn't show any signs of leaks, car hasn't overheated recently
4. tires have reasonable tread
Otherwise they will be paying to unstrap the car and have the work performed before we strap the car back onto the dyno to complete the tune.
