Cobb Tuning ap (The truth)
I am gonna write a review on the cobb ap. i just installed it last week and just got around to putting my car through it's paces, and this is what i found.
so i opened the box to my ap eager to plug it in and see what it had for me and my z. unfortunately i didn't install all the parts mainly the headers (which was a pain in the *** by itself) so once i did finished the headers up i went and plugged the cobb ap up read all the directions and dove in come to find out the ap usb cord sucked a** and didnt work at all but luckly my ps3 cord worked so i used that instead finally power so i played around with the menu a lil and played with the maps for those who think they can use the maps like the anti theft i doubt it if u would. unless u was leaving your car somewhere for a while because for the simple fact it takes like 5 mins to change so it makes no sense to do it. when going to a store where u might need it most or anything like that. cause if your like me you just want to get in and out the store to get what u want and really dont like waiting 5 Min's for a map change and then another 5 Min's to change it back so useless. as well as all the other maps same thing. ok so i used the 2+ map for mine 03 350z cause i have all the supporting mods the bad news is i put the headers on and the megan test pipes on at the same time. so i didn't get to experience a piece by piece gain i got to feel it all at the same time but i did feel a tq increase but this is just the butt dyno talking. but cant say from what mod. after waiting a couple of days because of the weather (damn rain). i got to take it on the road it did what it said it would do! took my rev's 500 more (which is useless tell u why in a min). so i get on the road and floor it and this is what i discovered my car a 2003 350z topped out at 157-159 depending on the wind and on a down heel slope (stock) my car after the ap install topped out at 157 down hill maybe would have went to 158 but i waved the white flag, it was dark outside. still no 160 now without the ap my needle would stop right before 160. the digital gauges would say 159 and my navigation would say 157. so i take the smaller number now after the cobb ap the needle would be buried past 160, which if i had to guess would be 163. and the digital gauges would read 158 ish (was mostly looking at the nav and the speedo). and the nav read a 157 like i said could have taken it maybe one mph more but doubt if it had any more in it. i bought it cause i dont have a tuner around me. and if i did i would pay way more than most of u, and i wouldn't know what they was saying to me, cause iam in germany right now. and the dollar keeps falling and i dont speak the language (also explains why i can go so fast and not worry about cops). so if u want to see your z float past it's rev limiter and u dont mind the 5 mins map changes with sub par performance buy it. but your money is well spent on something else i fill like i've been but thats just me it would be so bad if they lowered the price to maybe a mid 300's. but what they are asking for not really worth it thank god i didnt pay retail for it. any question ask no problem with telling you guys the truth just trying to look out for z owners. now from what i read in the new import tuner mag it made 30 hp but on a sti. so if u own one go pick it up might be worth every penny but not for a z they threw it together to sell to us because of how many z' and g's are on the road.

No prob, I'll wake your mom up and have her do it for me. Iam sure it aint gonna help your reading problem any. Dont read it then, if you really wanted to know you would have read it for my opinion. not to remark on my grammer.

BTW, it's grammar, not grammer. At least run a spell checker before you try to jump on someone and defend yourself. I actually LOLed at that one. Reminds me of Chris Rock skit: "Don't come in here all talking about readin' and sheit. I can count....1, 2, 4..."
AP for Z shows marginal gains. AP for STI is a totally different animal ( I owned one). It raises the boost level, leans out the fueling and raises timing. There's a lot more you can tweak on an factory FI engine than on a NA one. It's like comparing apples to manure.

Well i was not aware of this being a written exam, sorry to all. But on the other hand, if you don't want to read then don't. I have a master's in science not English sorry(thanks to u.s. army). Plus give me a break i don't do my best writing at 1200am(6hrs ahead of the east coast).

BTW, I have a BSCS and English is a second language to me. If I can do it, anybody can Thanks for the review. On the tune, I think you'll have better luck with Osiris. They seems to enjoy a good reputation in this board.

wow, all of that and no actual dyno numbers to see if you gained anything or not? plus a HP gain does not mean your top speed will be any faster, just means you can get to that speed in a quicker time than before. if you bought this device thinking it will make the car go faster you deserve to be out the price of it. maybe you not just throw a bunch of bolt on parts, then actually learn what a tuner does for the car, then try again.
