Mods: When to tune

Mods: When to tune
Fellas,
Just a quick question for those in the know.
For far into my mods should I tune? I've never had a tune on my Z nor do I know what it really composes of, but I've heard that you can't really take advantage of your mods until you have a tune.
I have headers, plenum spacer, cat-back, CAI, flywheel, and really soon test pipes.
Please advise.

Yes, you will be able to use Osiris on your 04' base model minus map switching. Check out http://www.uprev.com for more information. You can also give them a call, they're great and will help you with any of your questions.

Now, I'm planning to go with a powerlab turbo later in the future, and I know that kit comes with a UTEC. I know I need a tune NOW, so how should I approach this? I don't want to get a osiris or something now only to replace it with a UTEC that comes with the turbo later. Also, if I get a UTEC now I'll have 2 later on when I get the powerlab.
My issue is that I'm afraid of running very lean and possibly causing damage to my motor with all my bolt-on mods.
How can I get my car tuned now without spending twice?

unless u want to spend hundreds of dollars for 10 to 15 whp. Wait till u go FI then get a ems and tune. I would not waste my money on a tune with those mods if I were planing for FI.

If it is going to be a while until you go FI, I would get the car tuned. Just do an Osiris flash/dyno tune and call it a day. The car will run better (safer), pick up a ton in partial throttle, better throttle response (and open to 100%), and also gain some mid and top end power.

Get a tune now. Spend whatever it is the shop is going to charge you for dyno time while you're NA and make your car run safe and with better economy/power. When you go forced induction your Osiris License remains and all you'll be paying for is the turbo kit and dyno time.
You won't be double paying for anything, and you won't be paying for outdated hardware that you don't need with the Powerlab kit.

Buy the kit without the Utec.

Thanks Uprev, I noticed you said Osiris License, what do you mean? Are you talking about one of your units? Please elaborate I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to tuning. I'm doing some research on performance shops in my area and I think that I found one that I trust to tune my car, but I know I'll need to purchase some unit first right?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Our system is really flexible. Osiris License is what you get along with Cipher when you buy Osiris Standard. It's also what the Pro Tuners use when dyno tuning your car.
