Default 06 5AT Z Osiris dyno chart

Got the Osiris tune done a couple of weeks ago at JTune in Wlimington DE.

Performance mods before the tune:
GReddy Turbo Ti-C dual exhaust
MD 5/16 plenum spacer
K&N drop in air filter

Cost was $900, which included the one time fee of $400 for the license. I got 5 mappings. Considering the tune gave me +40hp when in power mode, it was worth the price.

Dyno chart below

That is about a 21 percent gain in peak horsepower! Never seen that before in a naturally aspirated 350Z. Good show.

Not familair with how to compensate the numbers for that type of dyno......but 230whp seems low for a NA Z with your mods.

I'm used to seeing them at 245 - 255whp bone-stock on a dyno jet. Expected to see your mods around 265 - 275whp.

Am I off base here?

Yes. 225 250 275 horsepower makes little difference. They are just numbers relative to nothing.

What is important is the difference between pre and post tune numbers. Here it is approximately 21 percent (40/190). That number, if valid, is outstanding!

Good to hear about your success! It's amazing what a tune go do to your car and it's too bad that not every that buys aftermarket parts do it. When i got my upgrades i lost power at every stage of the upgrade and had to rectify fuel to get some meaningful dynos, but on top of that i got a custom tune at the end and gained additional power.

JTune has a Dynapack dyno. Another member said that a dyno run on a Dynojet or something else could likely produce a higher number. Regardless of that, I feel the power difference and it's breathed new life into the driving experience. I get a little more jolt going from 2>3 gear in manual mode, but it's not every time, maybe half the time. Outside of that, the tune is great.

If you want the shifts to improve, think about getting a valve body upgrade for your tranny.

I can recommend the Transgo kit

I can understand your arguement, however, if a dyno does not reflect an accurate output of the vehicle, pre or post tune, I don't see how any difference can be considered reliable.

A 21% whp gain on a Dynojet would put him slightly over 300whp (assuming he started at 250whp). I suppose 300 might be possible with a spacer, exhaust, and tune....although I've never seen it on an '06.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't researched that issue yet but was planning too. I know a few people that have experienced it and it seems to be more pronounced in power mode.

He is referring to the nearly infinite calibrations of the several different kinds dyno's out there. Focus on the gains, which in this case our outstanding. No Rev-up or Non-rev will be at 300whp with simple bolt-ons and tune (maybe, and I stress the maybe, at the infamous church dynapack).

The gain is quite large as others have mentioned. The engine could've been poorly tuned from the outset (running rich or lean). It is possible for a dyno operator to muck with corrections without you knowing about it (hopefully not). It is also possible to generate a lower # by just not going full WOT (this can be accidental if the TPS or accelerator position pedal sensor is off, which may be recalibrated after an ECU reset). If you saw repeated runs pre and post and he only saved the best, then that's fair, and it's really a nice gain.

I did not see any of the runs. My car was there, I was not. I think Lawrence from UpRev did the actual tuning on my vehicle. He flew in for the weekend to get JTune up on Osiris. Could have made a difference having an expert do it.

i was there too and my gain was +33 whp on their Dynapack dyno. I know the number is not important right now because you can go to another shop with DynoJet and get 260-270whp read out.. Its the gain that counts!

Wow you guys are making me want to get mine tuned..... Im running a spacer, pullies, exhaust, and headers, and i love the way my car runs on a stock osiris rom hahahah. I think its fast lol.

I was going to wait until i decided on going to forced induction again or not, but it looks like i might change my mind once i get this tuned .

Did you guys lose a significant amount of mpg after the power tune?
