Default UpRev Osiris tune Idle RPM question

So im doin the uprev but it asks me to specify my "desired idle RPM".. ok now here comes the ignorance.. What is a stock 350z set at for idle. I have an Injen cold air, MREV2 lower plenum, 1/2" spacer, high flow cats, and full exhaust. What would an ideal idle RPM be??

Sorry again for the ignorance and thanks for the help.

Mines at stock and I believe stock is at 600-700 rpm idle (somewhere in there iirc)

Also if you dont specify - Jarred (or the TUNER) will choose for you.

I have somewhat similar mods on the DE, and although i dont have Osiris, my reflash tune is set to idle at about 800rpm.

650 is stock.

without FI or any other major engine mods (cams, etc) there isn't a need to raise your idle any. If you want it raised some for fun then i wouldn't go over 800 for an N/a car.

I usually set them between 800-850 at idle. Just helps with clutch engagement and makes it a lil smoother...

Mine is set to 850 solely to eliminate the clutch chatter at idle

750 idle for FI setup is too low IMO and experience(id say 800 for NA/modded is good). 850-900 is perfect, anything lower the vehicle tries to overrev or oil psi drops too dramatically in my experience.

bump, need additional info

I wanna know if you can set the ilde rpm to anything with the reflash. Say I want to set my idle to 1200 rpms. Can you do that with the reflash. With just the cipher cable on my 03, I can only increase my idle 250rpms over stock (~850 rpms) and thats not high enough.

In addition to that, can one also then turn off the idle speed CEL that will accompany the 1200 rpm idle.

I figure if I have to pay to get my speed limiter removed, and the TB programmed to stay at 100% during WOT, I wanna get everything else adjusted as well.

Thanks!!

so far rich after i talked to multiple people 250 is the highest the cipher will allow. I also have the 03 g35. Since there was no other way i went ahead and paid for the osiris flash for 1050 idle and the TPS fix while i was on Hal's dyno.

It sucks because we tried a few idle's and 900 would idle fine but 850 was just right on the line for being too low so in order to not run into problems i needed to have a flash. 50 stupid rpm cause me 300$ flash.

ya i knew that 250 was all i could get for "free"

gotta spend 300$ anyhow to get the speed limiter removed. I just wanna idle higher so i'm not at such a low IPW.

at least all that can be fixed with the flash.

you arent getting any CEL for too high of idle are you?

nope, oddly enough my car has never throw a CEL except the first time i fired up my vortech and had a misfire. It was a loose wiring connection on one of the coil packs. Fixed it and never had a code since. Not even the O2 sensor codes for removing my cats.

That being said, i didn't have hal flash off any codes to keep them from coming back. I just left that alone. He did speed limiter, idle, and TPS.

Truthfully i probably won't need the speed limiter but i figured why not if he's in there.

I've not heard of anyone else getting a high idle code either. I know when i had osiris tuner and was playing with it i went all the way up to 1200 and didn't have any codes. 1050 seems to be optimal for my engine so i left it there.

I hear ya about the low IPW. I think that's part of my vac/cruise issue. It will raise once i dump e85 in it.

Glad to see you got it figured out. I got mine changed to 800 because of my lightweight flywheel. When i would exit the highway (~80mph, 3000 rpm) and dump the clutch to stop, the car would die. I put it to 800 and had him speed up the enrichment towards idle to ensure the car stays alive, hasnt died since!

Just for future reference!

JWT clutch and otherwise pretty much stock.

Funny thing about uprev idle adjustment it only seems to adjust the no-AC idle. The idle with A/C on remains stock...At least on my '04.5.

Cipher won't delete codes...only rom editor which requires the tuner license. I also think rom editor can bump idle more than 250rpm.

mine stays where it is for a/c.

are you talking about the cipher increase in rpm? that might not work for the a/c

A long time back Shawn Church tried to set my idle above 2K (for race map launch) and iirc nothing over 1900 held... I think below that stuck but did me no good so I didnt bother... If you want 1200 (for whatever reason), I'm pretty sure you can flash it to that.
