ECU Flash vs Cobb Tuning AccessPORT

ECU Flash vs Cobb Tuning AccessPORT
Hey guys,
I was planning to get a AAM FULL ECU Flash and came across the Cobb Tuning AccessPORT. I am not sure what are the pros and cons of each or if these are totally different modifications.
AAM claims that you can get gains from 8 to 15hp with their FULL ECU Flash. They will also raise your rev limiter to 7100 rpm.
-Can you acheive this with the Cob Tuning AccessPORT?
-Do anyone here have the Cobb Tuning AccessPORT and have you dynoed it to see if you have gotten any gains?
I plan to do one or the other and get it dynoed. Last time I dynoed on my Automatic 2006 350z Touring I got the following:
Stock on the Dynojet:
230 WHP
205 TQ
With AAM Spacers:
245 WHP
218 TQ
I recently installed the AAM 2.5 high flow cats. I plan to get another dyno run after the FULL ECU Flash. I hope to get close to 260whp with these mods. Do you guys think that will be a realistic number?
Thanks,

Actually 245 whp 218 tq was with just the AAM Angled Plenum Spacer
and a K&N filter. When they dynoed it they seem surprised too. I haven't gotten it dynoed with the AAM high flow cats. I plan to do that after I get the ECU flashed.

My understanding is that the Cobb port comes with many maps and you can monitor and tune according to different mods. This means you can tune the car with a map... add mods and use a different map to tune again.
If you decide to get a reflash, I hope you are done modding. The reflash is for one set of mods and you will have to pay again to get another flash if you plan on adding any more mods.
The cobb access port seems to be the smarter pick - correct me if im wrong.

I would recommend Uprev Osiris over Cobb on your G/Z since Cobb has officially ended support for our platform. Cobb/Osiris are custom tunes that are done on your car for your car, while the 'full reflash' is a canned tune that isn't perfect for your setup.
Honestly if I were in your shoes, I'd hit up Hills Garage for a custom dyno tune using Uprev Osiris (assuming you're in the mid-A since you're dealing with AAM). Although I think AAM specializes in Cobb, it is a dead platform for G/Z and you'll get much more from Uprev Osiris. Check out the Mid-A section for all the guys getting their tunes at Hills and how happy they are...

I am not done with my mods. I think the Uprev will be best for me.

These are great suggestions. I never heard of hills garage before. I will have to look them up. By chance do you know what type of dyno they use? I would like to get it dynoed on a dyno jet since that's what I used the first time. That way I can see how my gains are compared to before.

They use a dynojet awesome guys over there, their tuner frank smith has 20+ years experience tuning cars. The other cool thing about uprev osiris is you can switch maps using your cruize buttons in realtime -- for example he can put a 'valet' map with a 3000rpm and 35mph speed limiter in one of the slots I got mine set up that way so I don't have to worry about the car getting abused when I leave it somewhere like a dealer or valet.

I was not aware that Cobb no longer supports the VQ35's. Anyway, I just recently used the race beta software with my Cobb to tune my mild HR build. Although it wasn't as in-depth as some of the others, I was able to do everything I needed with it to get a safe, custom tune.

As has been mentioned we are no longer developing new products or features for the G/Z platform along with all other NA AccessPORT products.
However, we will continue to support existing customers for AccessPORT repairs or any other AccessPORT/AccessTUNER-related service issues for the foreseeable future.
