Ive been looking for awhile now today and havent come up with anything. So maybe a few of you guys know.

I hooked my friends ScanGauge II up to the Z a few weeks ago and it worked well with the exception that the parameters the device was reading didnt work inside the car. Example, the tach, water temp, and batter (if I remember correctly) gauges didnt work while the ScanGauge was wired up. I was looking into ECU protocols and I think I might have found the answer.

How this effects me now, I was looking into wiring my 7 inch notebook to run diagnostics in car. What protocols should I be looking for if the ISO9141-2 isnt what I want?

 

Oh, car is an 04 Touring, 6MT, ~68k mi

 

Contact Cobb or Uprev and see if they'll give you the info they spend hundreds of thousand of dollars cracking.

 

I know, I may have to resort to doing so. The Scangauge seems like fairly old technology comparative to whats on the market today. Finding useful information on its cooperation with the VQ sucks.

Thats what I thought it was but its nice to finally see the model 350z with it finally. Good looks bro.

Anyone know why the ScanGauge itself would keep other gauges for working? Is it because it robbed all the signal? Wait Im onto something. Haha awesome that might actually be it.

I had the same issue with this gauge but there's an option to force the protocol. not sure if the scangauge has that option.
