Default Some advice needed ...

Hello All

I need some advice as ive begun to gather the parts for tuning the Zed a bit. Mainly noise I know but some gains hopefully come UpRev mapping time.

The advice I need is for gains and noise factor am I wise getting Stillen Gen 1 intakes? I can get them at a really good price and I miss the noise my Nismo gave, the only down side to them was the open filters with no heatshields

As the stillens are fully enclosed do they sharpen the car up a bit or like the Nismo suffer from awful heatsoak? At the minute im running stick intakes with HKS panel filters.

Im going for Stillen Gen 3's next summer as I knwo these are the best. Weathers not really right for them yet over in the Irish Isles

My current setup is:

- Nismo Exhaust System
- Ichiba Y Pipe
- Kinetix HFC's
- Stock Intake HKS panel Filters

Cars a 2008 HR model also.

Let me know your views on the Stillen products and what you think I should do?

Thanks, Chris

NISMO is a cat back exhaust. What do you intend to do with a y-pipe?

IMHO don't waste money in intakes, may be the only one good is Stillen Gen3.
MAY BE, i'm not sure.
The problems of all intakes for HR are the same:
- OEM intakes with panels filters (like BMC, K&N or similar) are quite good, lot of air and no problems like the old DE motor.
- aftermarket intake when motor is hot take hot air, not a good idea. If you make a Dyno with COLD motor you have MAY BE gained some hp, with HOT you loose to standard!!!
- so for NORMAL mods and cars (like kat, y and so on, and UPREV) there is NO need of more air !
That is the FACT.
(in case of FI or HEAVY mods all changes of course...)
Use money for other mods my friend !
IMHO !

PS: i have a 2009 HR 350Z, so i'm "in the businnes" and look a lot for infos...

I have :
- Berk HFC (very nice sound and quite "aggressive" car after 3000rpm)
- BMC panel filters in original intake ( = K&N = JR =... all similar...)
- UPREV tune in development (i live in Italy, i can do only e-tunes and the UK man that is doing it send me e-tune, i try and log it and he fixes it some other times...)
