ECUflash is free same kinda of soft wear its currently hold 1053 whp on a reflash. $700 is a bit ridiculous. If you can tune timing and fuel how would I be lucky to not lose power?

Looks like they mainly support EVOs and Subies, not sure if the Z33 ECU will be supported. Looks like an open source sort of deal so don't expect any technical support if you run into problems, and it's not exactly free, there is a bit of hardware you need to purchase too.

yeah $700 vs $250 is what it cost to tune my car from ground up tune this was just the tuners fee. If your paying $700 for a tune im getting into the tuning business.

Also the software has built in capabilities that recover crashed and partial flashed ECUs which open source does not, or at the end of the day you can send it to UPREV if you have any issues. We have done 100's of Nissan with UPREV as well as 100"s of Subys and Mitsus With Cobb, as well 100"s of open source Mitsus and Subys and I can the you that the company backed tunes (I.E. UPREV and Cobb), tune faster and have less issues the Open source non supported tunes...

This may be true but for what Im trying to do its not worth $700. I could put the $700 in tires and gain more of an advantage. If I was keeping the VQ I would consider it. This car is only going to be VQ until racing season is over. The car will be just to get more seat time and also be a little more competitive in the "stock" class series where the rule book states No engine or suspension mods

Nissan ECU's are 10 Tens more complicated then the Mitsu ECU's. The $700 For the Tuner package includes a License which is 300$ a Cable to data log, Tune and Load Maps which is 200 and a 200$ fee for the software for end using tuning. Of they could pay 5000$ to become a pro Tuner. All of this pays for the 100"s of thousands of Dollars in R&D that it takes to unlock the ECU's and stay on top of the 100's of on going Roms that come out every year for Nissan/Infiniti vehicles.

Yes open source can be a pita, I totally agree. The thing that I find outrageous is a local shop wants $500 to tune a BONE STOCK Z. Im not looking for a ground up custom tune for big cams and a big snail and rescale injectors and map it for a 3 bar. Just ignition and fuel......
