Default tuning at idle problems (aps 880cc with haltech)

the engine temp is in the midle on the guage. When the car is at idle it dies when I try to lean it out to 13.7- 14.2arf. It seem to be ok when the arf is at 11 -12 that is a bit rich. i can't raise the rpm with the haltech.

are you using copy thru timing under vacuum? There are very few ppl that self tune Haltechs. I;m tryin to learn more myself.

my z idles great on 800ccs, bc stage 2 cams and haltech.

I set my low rpm vacuum settings to copy through and then tune the fuel tables. Be sure to set your latencies too.

You want to copy through timing, not MAF or fuel (both of which are possible with the Haltech). Well, MAF shouldn't effect anything anyway... (I presume you are a 6MT)

i can relate to what you're saying about idle afr's. currently i see 11.5-12.5 afrs at idle and thats what works best for me. make sure your injector dead times are set correct for the specific injector you are using. i played with copy through ignition timing for vacuum settings but found i got a lot of engine back fires and lean spots using that so i disabled it. and you are correct you can not adjust idle with haltech. though that would be nice.
