Default little confused

I have many questions since I am a new tuner but I will stick with whats on my mind right now. I just got done with a street tuning session and I cant figure out why I cant get a consistent afr. How much does yalls vary on each pull with the same tune? I am trying to dial my fuel in and every different pull my afr for the same voltages can vary about .2-.3. Also how much knock is too much? I wanted to start playing with the intake cam timing(DE), after some reading there seems to be room for improvement in the mid range. Well I added like 2 degrees in Uprev( 1 degree actual right?) from 3200-5600 from bfs 15.79- to the highest. When I did this I began to get a consistent knock strength throughout the rpm. Is that normal? Ill stop with that for now. Hopefully someone can help. BTW I am using the knock strength in rom editor to monitor knock.

AFR should be pretty consistent at WOT between similar pulls. If not you may have too much variation in your fuel maps.. instead of screwing up the fuel maps make adjustments to the MAF table in the voltage ranges you want to influence the AFR.

Are you increasing ignition timing or actual cam timing? By the way you worded it it sounds like you're trying to increase ignition timing (2steps=1* ect).

Save yourself the hassle and potential problems and get the car on a dyno before you start messing with any kind of ignition or cam timing. Don't rely on knock strength, build or borrow a set of knock phones.

I started messing with cam timing because I have seen you can use maf voltage as a measurement. Also I am tuning the way you described and using your tool. I built a set if knock headphones but I just haven't put them on yet. Also Jared said the knock strength was pretty spot on if I remember correctly.
