Default is this a dumb idea?????

i had already preordered and put my down payment up for my touring crome automatic will all options except navigation when i recieved a call from a dealer who told me earlier that his preorder allocation had been exhausted. now he tells me he had someone back out so i go ahead and order another, this time with the 6 speed as i believe this is a more popular option and all else including color match my original buy. my friend who is a dealer told my i would be able to take it when it comes in and put it in his dealer name so as not to pay sales tax and then sell it privately for a small profit.......maybe a thousand over what i paid....MSRP...................any opinion on this and does it seem possible that i could loose out somehow? as it turns out it may be a moot point as a friend of mine found out what i did and now wants it at MSRP which i would gladly do for him. he is not 100% as of yet.

I guess it all depends on whether you are willing to wait up to a year for the opportunity to buy a Z off the lot at MSRP. Personally, a car as fine as the Z should really be a 5/6 speed and not an automatic although you didn't say whether you could drive a stick-shift.

I suspect the dealers are going to play games as soon as the pre-ordering phase is over. And if so, then you should be able to sell yours for at least no more than $1,000 below MSRP and probably higher. There's always people out there who, after they hear about something, just have to have the latest toy.

Just my 2c.

I'm interested to hear what others have to say because it's all going to be about supply and demand.
