Default Latest on the '03 sticky?

So, I was just reading the sticky from 2003 and was wondering if the standard / basic NA upgrades are still exhaust and headers, cams, pulleys, air intakes, and plenum? Any difference in thought from 10 years ago?

Motordyne 5/16th plenum spacer, Motordyne ART pipes and Osiris are the best.

Exhaust and intake if you want but most intakes heatsoak anyway.

Skip the headers and UR pulley.

What about the cam or injectors?

You don't need injectors for what I listed and I would forget about cams.

Just start reading up and figure out what your goals are.

N/A you will get around 280-290whp max without doing major mods. I think Z1 made 372whp but the amount of money spent on that build you could have went F/I but its all about what you want.

F/I you will get 400whp+ easy on Sasha's kit (Boosted performance) but I would advise you to build the block but some may prefer to risk stock block.

Is that 280-290whp max for the DE non-rev?

As long as you stay under 500hp you will be okay stock, once you plan to go 500+ then should build the bottom at a minimum. Cams are a good add on if going FI or not. I have a 2003Z Track Model (491hp) stock block and not/never a bottom. But it's more than just the FI alone, such as clutch/flywheel, radiator oil cooler, etc. N/A then cams, headers, exhaust, cold air intake would be good, as I had started out that way and the difference was felt. I am in a car group here in Northern California where we have a very large group, meets like mine (Carmel Valley/Pebble Beach Runs - 100+ cars) and Treasure Island Meet of 170+ cars. Many N/A with mods as mentioned above and many more such as mine FI. This is a passion here, I belong to 3 different car groups, also I am the Area Representative for Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties with sponsors such as ZCarGarage that does everything from simple maintenance to building FI or upgrading FI engines on anything from 240z's up to the GTR's and also tracks them. ZONC.org you can check out some cars, and ZCarGarage.com you can see some of the modded and FI projects done. Can find out anything you want there to help you decide what you what.
