Default Osiris Uprev

I just found out from Uprev that if my ecu goes bad, and I have to replace it, I will lose my license. Is this true?

Thanks.

I thought you went to a local Dallas shop and got it tuned there?

Seems like you been having bad luck with your Z... did you ever get you CEL fixed?

idk if it is true or not but it sounds bs to me.
You buy the license so it should be yours regarding of what happens to the z.

If you cannot connect to the ecu via uprev cable then you wont be able to get the license back onto the cable. Therefore it is stuck on the ecu and uprev has no knowing if you actually have it on someone elses ecu or cable. You may be able to send the ecu to uprev and have them try to pull the license externally. Could possibly be bad communication wire via obd or even a poor ground. Are you positive ecu is shot?

Also i noticed a comment about a check engine light... Any idea what the code was? This could be part of the answer to your ecu

Eric,
I used to have CEL after installing the Berk test pipes. It took me 3 months to find out that the O2 sensor fuse was blown.

This time is totally different issue :-(. After cleaning the throttle body, I'm getting weird idle going back and forth between 1500-2000. I tried relearn procedure, but still didn't work.
There was a person whom had the same issue, and he had to replace the ECU. Thereofre, I was wonderring if my ecu goes bad, I would be able to transfer the license to a new ECU or not.

I will talk to my tuner here in Dallas.

Thanks guys.

The Osiris license is stored on the ECU so if you replace the ECU without removing the license yes you will lose it.

As long as you can get power to the ECU you should be able to reflash it back to stock and remove the license, then just reload it onto the new ECU. If the ECU part # is different on the new ECU you will need a new tune tho.

Why did you feel the need to clean out the throttle body?

I'm glad I didn't let my friend (shop owner and mechanically incline) clean my throttle body when I didn't think it was necessary... "if it ain't broke, don'f fix it." They're talking about sponsoring my car too but I'm going to decline that as well.

GL with your issues bro.

it's sad that all he wants was cleaning the TB and it causes headache like this.
but with that being said, I've cleaned them all the time to all my cars without any issue...
There shouldn't be any issue, at all, to just cleaning the tb, imo.

The throttle body is drive by wire therefore if you move the butterfly by hand you destroy your throttle body. So get ready to buy a new one/new ones

Please dont spread this ********.

There are 2 pots, motors and gears and that's it.

I have dismantled my entire TB and put it back together 2x without issue. It have manually pushed the butterfly with the key in the ignition to the on position to get the TPS voltages. It does nothing.

So are you saying I still have a chance that the tbs are not shot?

No, it's logical bro... 7 years is a long time! I hope it's an easy/no cost fix.
